And one more thing about Galloway, what was he doing for their first goal?

I can't remember the whole build up so there might be a good reason for it but he seemed to be running back from a centre mid position.

Why?

He then has to run back to cover the run of Belerin allowing Ozil time and space against Lennon to get an easy cross in.

Just had a quick look at the stats.

5/5 Tackles, 100% rate.

Only Gareth Barry made more tackles (7/12).

Thought he was very efficient, and stood out. They tried to exploit that side, failed.

Not sure why some fans are being hard on Galloway.

He's a 19 year who's been dropped into the Prem, playing out of position, and whilst he's not marauding down the left like Baines in his pomp, he is proving to be one of the finest defensive players in the team.

though disappointed that we lost I thought we did well against a good Arsenal team that's currently on a roll.

Don't understand the negativity aimed at Galloway, I think he's been a revelation .. I'm struggling to think of any English LB's playing better than him in the PL. He's done a better job on Bellerin and Arsenal's right side today than any other LB this season, granted Lennon helped out a lot. If there was any chink in the back 4 it was Jagielka. It will be interesting to see how the back four performs without him .. I suspect well, pity about the goalie.

McCarthy anonymous first half, as was Carzola. 2nd. half we saw a lot of both of them, I'd like to understand what happened there.

Glad we had a go, pity we didn't start the match as we ended it, I don't see any reason why we should fear anyone.

Hope Besic is fit to cover Barry's absence.

The neutral might argue - in lieu of my trying to wear Blue tinted specs - that it could have been 4-1 to Arsenal or 3-2 to Everton. Sadly however, whilst Arsenal deserved to edge it, the referee (that idiot Mason) will, as always be at the forefront of the key moments.

I think Everton have every right to feel aggrieved at the failure to award a free kick in the build up to the Lukaku header (not a gimme by any means and RFM perhaps better placed) - equally we should feel aggrieved that The Lucas Leiva Law was applied harshly for Barry.

Firstly Barry was wrongly booked when the free kick could - indeed should have been awarded to Everton in a good position - and then the 2nd booking, nominally correct could easily have been Leiva'd by a sensible ref (which Mason isn't) in the dying seconds.

Then we might argue a meaty challenge (Gabriel?) in the build up to the first goal was overlooked - but.. as is often the case with Mr Mason we are forced to debate his crass decision making for far longer than necessary...

and the last time this moron officiated the same fixture he awarded Everton the lead (Saha) from 3-4 yards offside and made amends with some equally generous calls to the home side

He was left 2 against 1 and trying to buy time for support to arrive. Couldn't win no matter what he did

Galloway did very well today. The only thing he could have done better was scoring when he had that great chance. Other than that I think he did great.
He looks unnatural and uneasy to me when he is in the opposition's half. Granted he put a good ball in for Naismith against Chelsea, but that's about it. Baines is far, far, far better and can't return quickly enough.

Clear cut chances were always going to be difficult. We couldn't afford to gift them one, let alone two. Barkley, when he bothered to get involved gave us a spark. Lennon didn't work and Mirallas maybe could have started. Lukaku got sweet FA to do much with and struggled accordingly. Galloway is a hugely promising player.
