Silva all day long. Arteta needs to get experience at another club that is not Everton to see if he has anything about him.
Don't understand the hate for Silva either who has shown that sh1te teams can actually play footy with correct tactics but in time the shiteness eventually comes through again when you don't have a squad.

SIlva has played for crap clubs and managed crap clubs, while Arteta has played at a very high level, has a lot of experience of the Premier League, worked under Pep.
Another issue we cant ignore about Silva is how he cant stay at a place for long, even as a player, for the first 10 years of his career he was at 9 clubs in his first 10 years?

In fact in 22 years as a player and a manager he went through 13 clubs but that includes 9 years at Estoril? Why so many in such a short period of time? Maybe he has a horrible attitude, the type a manager must have to down tools when another clubs shows interest.

Besides hasnt he shafted Watford himself, the club who paid his wages by giving info to Moshiri about things that happen between himself and Watford while he was at Hull? I might have that wrong as ive lost track a bit on that tapping up stuff, but what i do know is this guy is nothing but trouble, which is why he goes through so many clubs.

Arteta is the man

Stop sitting on the fence and tell us what you really think!

West Ham have got Pellegrini. I can’t help but think his best days are behind him and he is winding down as a manager accepting rubbish jobs. First China and now West Ham. Would much prefer a younger coach, like Silva.

Hobson's choice.

Perhaps one of you young bucks could draw up a proper poll listing ALL the names currently on the betting websites.

Make the list public and none of us can hide.

I think because Silva already has experience coaching a team at this level, he is the more logical choice - Arteta is an unproven coach with very little experience. Could see the coaching carousel continue to turn either way if things don't go well early

I can’t really choose, just want it done. On the point of Arteta not having managed a club before Guardiola had only managed the Barcelona B team for 12 months before being given the reigns of the first team. Sometimes to get the best talent available you have to get in early. Of course if Pep had failed I wouldn’t be using him as an example. There will be plenty of examples of coaches be given a first big move and it not working out. Of course it’s a gamble but to a certain extent all appointments are.

I'd love the club to take a chance on Arteta since I think he'd end up being a great manager but I don't think we can really take that chance right now given how badly last season went, people could quickly panic and question his lack of experience if things don't go to plan straight away. The thing with Arteta is you either take a chance on him now or if he goes elsewhere and does well it's unlikely the club would be able to attract him again.

Same.

I'd love us to show some balls and take a punt on Arteta for several reasons:
  1. He's been the number 2 to the World's best manager for the last 2 years. He's obviously highly regarded in football circles, otherwise he wouldn't be in that position, and he wouldn't have been considered for the Arsenal job.
  2. He's an intelligent person who can speak 6 languages, he'll have picked up loads from Guardiola. Mourinho was an understudy who went on to be better than his boss.
  3. He's charming, which is always a good thing.
  4. He's played for Everton and understands the club.
  5. An ambitious appointment like this is more in line with NSNO (which we drastically have to get back to), rather than other names we're linked with.

Obviously, the big draw backs are that he hasn't managed before, and it's questionable as to whether we're currently in a position to appoint a managerial novice given the challenges of the club. But, with the right people around him (including Brands), I think a lot of those pressures could be taken off his shoulders.

He could turn out to be a tactical genius, run-of-the-mill or a Gary Neville who needs to get back to his comfort zone. But it would be a lot more exciting to have him appointed than someone like Silva, in my opinion.

Yes, keep believing that until he announces his first signing is Troy Deeney

How typical is it that we’ve had a vacancy longer than arsenal and yet they’ve filled it quicker than us and with a coach who’s won 3 Europa titles back to back.

Meanwhile we try to pick up hull and watfords manager.

Nothing will be the same apparently.

Wenger has been going for longer than Sam has. Plus they're Arsenal and we're Everton.
