I'd like to say Arteta, but I'm not sure our dysfunctional current state lends itself to appointing a complete managerial novice. The fact Pep rates him does make him worth consideration tho.

I’d be more excited by Arteta purely for it to be a step in to the unknown - it could be brilliant, average or a disaster.

With Silva, I’d just expect it to be average.

I'd love the club to take a chance on Arteta since I think he'd end up being a great manager but I don't think we can really take that chance right now given how badly last season went, people could quickly panic and question his lack of experience if things don't go to plan straight away. The thing with Arteta is you either take a chance on him now or if he goes elsewhere and does well it's unlikely the club would be able to attract him again.

How typical is it that we’ve had a vacancy longer than arsenal and yet they’ve filled it quicker than us and with a coach who’s won 3 Europa titles back to back.

Meanwhile we try to pick up hull and watfords manager.
