Both are risks but we have to go for a risk.

The opposite to a risk is safe and safe brought us Allardyce.

This assertion harkins to mind a quote I learnt in my formative years - it's from a survivor of the Nazi death camps, who lived its 'bones laid bare' existentiality:

The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference.”... Elie Wiesel

So then, I'd propound a notion that Sam brought to us neither safety nor inoculation from risk: rather, he delivered us that altogether worst of worlds...indifference... ...we just plain stopped caring (and watching, in my case). The Everton executive, with their shambolic decision makings, share equal culpability in having reduced Evertonians to such limbo of indifference...

...I hate indifference.

I'd have loved that if you didn't use Times New Roman.

*L’Estasi Dell’oro plays in the background*

Everton had the manager we deserved in Sam Allardyce.

So many levels

I don't wish to be bombarded with Youtubed Blackadder clips of the 'pooh-pooh' scene, but are we too readily dismissing some 'hidden in plain sight' managerial options? It's easy to pooh-pooh everything, but were it not for a healthy bit of realism, the Emperor would still be wandering about the joint, starkers.

Silva 100%,why arteta is even been mentioned i dont know, just because hes ex player for us,or been part of peps team means nothing-been with pep does not mean he is going to win every game with us or do well, like most he should start lower down and get experience

There's no point debating it, I think the Silva deal was done months ago probably before Sam was appointed and I'd even venture to suggest that Sam knew all about it, which is why he held out for an 18 month deal. Arteta must be building a reputation to be in the running for the Arse job though, I'm sure it won't be long before someone gives him a chance, Stoke maybe?
