Sounds like a goer down here. My mates a Swansea season ticket holder - and all rumours down with them seems to be that's he's off.

Great signing for us I think - always rated him and up another level for Wales in the euros. As a Welshman hope he fairs better than our last Welsh signing!!!!

Williams is top notch, big strong, no nonsense CB who actually Is a leader. Basically he would be our Fonte with then hopefully Koulibaly being added as our more modern CB ala Van Dijk. For £10 million fantastic business.

Williams will improve our defence no end. Sod the whole age thing, it doesn't matter when we are flaky as hell and our team seem to have forgotten how to head a ball.

I don't care about his age. We have so much "potential" on our squad. We need some players with grit, determination, and winning mentality now. We can't have a squad made up of 20 teenagers.

I would welcome Williams with open arms

Why? Best non-Italian centre back at the Euro's was easily Carvalho (the former Chelski defender not William) and he's 38.

The idea that you can't be a great player post-30 is nonsense with the fitness levels and medical teams/technology nowadays.

I wish I was 32! Ha ha In all seriousness though, modern footballers careers last much longer than in the past. Williams will comfortably play into late 30's at a high level. Look at Distin. I think at 10 million he will be a great signing to lead our defence. That's if it actually happens or the mythical 48 hour period kicks in!
