Not surprised at this. They all know we have money and that Moshiri is willing to pay above value for guys he really wants. It doesn't hurt Swansea at all to ask for a little more money and, frankly, we'll probably pay a few extra million.

I'm assuming that Koulibaly is off and Williams has become plan B. Hard to know how deep in the barrel we'll be digging if go down to plan C or plan D.

Your assumptions are horribly wrong.

No chance, it's a bad deal for my money, 10 mill is a push for 3-4 seasons and wages. Do what other clubs do let the player agitate in the knowledge of how much money he won't be getting, couple of bad results early doors and that will soften their cough.

If it doesn't happen so be it, not like we don't have spends to go elsewhere.

Really important we don't get done here, rest of the footballing world is looking to see if we're a mark.

why?

really, what's the difference a few mil makes mate?

Zilch, in the grand scheme of things.

and we want Williams irregardless if Stones goes or not - which if he does we'll get so much for him a few mil for Williams will be a drop in the ocean anyway

Haha, cracks me up when fans go on about a few million like its 20p. I know it's modern day football but we have made a very generous offer to a good defender who has maximum of 2, maybe 3 years at the highest level. Add a guess of minimum £50k a week over a 3 year contract and its £17.5m with virtually no sell on value?

Madness, just utter madness!

it's not the player that's turning it down though. it's his club.

and yes maybe, but it's all relative. the only way to be a success in the market now is to be slightly less mad than everybody else.

We'll definitely get him. Plus we need another CB, maybe Indi. We really do lack solidility throughout the spine.

Older players means shorter contracts and thus less on wages over the duration of their employment, so we should actually be looking at paying a HIGHER transfer fee for someone of Williams's age compared to a younger player.
