Fair enough. Have they quoted 10 & we haven't offered enough?

I'm not sure mate.

A lot of articles were saying £10m yesterday but equally a lot were saying £8m.

So it could be that the deal we had agreed in principle was in between those figures and now Swansea have decided they want to milk it (rightly so) and try and get a bit more money out of us, so IMO it just depends how much Koeman wants his man.

To be fair no more than we have done and are doing so with Stones.

only difference in this case Esk is that as far as I'm aware we haven't 'agreed a deal in principle' with City - we've set a valuation?

Swansea seem to have agreed to the deal, but then moved the goalposts.

When Everton are knocking back 50m offers for Stones and hokding out for more are you really suprised that Swansea don't want to let their key player for silly 10m when they can charge us 15m to 20m ?

We've offered 8m upfront with 2 million in addons. Swansea want 10m up front. That's the only difference. It will be an undisclosed fee when it goes through.

To confirm Williams has agreed fees. If they get the fee agreed today, I would expect him to sign tomorrow

Haggle haggle that's what it's about!

I thought that was the point of the £10 million release clause, someone meets that and the player wants to go surely that is the contract between the two.

If he had 10m realese clause then Swansea wouldn't be able to reject it would they ?

In theory they could - depending on what the clause was, thinkl theirs a 'release clause' and a clause which allows them to speak to interested parties type clause, ofc the latter the club can always say no end of the day to it.

Plus with any release clause the club can decide to not honour it, in which case it'd need to go to court

but don't think either applies here, they just aren't a common thing in English footy yet
