2023/24 Ashley Young

They scored 1 deflected goal. Mitoma has roasted most RB's for 2 years. I don't accept Young played badly. Brighton didn't have many scoring opportunities and both Harrison and McNeil have back tracking as a priority over attack. It's Dyche's modus operandi. I don't like it - especially at home. Young should however have been subbed before he was but for a free transfer he has done ok for us.
Its not on Young, its on Dyche, as a free transfer Young would be ok, if he was being brought on for the last 20 or 30 minutes to help us see games out. He should not be a starter and should certainly never be left on for pretty much the full 90 minutes, as he was yesterday .

Dyche"s reluctance to make subs is putting undue pressure on players like Gueye and Young.

Young is finished , it happens to every player.
He has been very costly to us in almost every game he plays in.

This by every metric means he should not be starting any games for us.

As for Patterson you say he never shone , you mean like all the team in those early games ?

I'm still waiting to see the mistakes that have been equally as costly as say Youngs.
But I get it some have made their mind up and that's their right but one or 2 post complete nonsense to justify their stance.
Listen to any phone ins , read any message boards or forums the majority are as baffled as I am why Young is constantly picked over Patterson.

I've seen enough of this lad to think he'll be a real talent if coached & encouraged , he won't get that playing second fiddle to Ashley Young.
Pretty poor situation as it is.

He is second fiddle to Young and will be the 3rd choice rightabck when Coleman is back.

Well that's down to purely bad management.
Seamus is the club captain I've no problem helping a young prospect to develop.

Btw
Seamus only got his place back when Patterson got injured last season & kept it as he played so well , that's how it should be.
Not holding back the lads progression by playing a persistently costly has been.

Hopefully Young gets the support of his teammates and Dyche makes a point in the press conference of saying he's first on the teamsheet. There's no I in team and Ashley played his heart out for us.
Thats a joke our midfield wingers & central defenders have to do Ashley Young's job for him - total liability IMO - he cost us 4 points in the last 2 game he played - sent off - then out of position for Brightons equaliser - just stood watching Jack Harrison doing his job offering no help at all totally out off position IMO ....

EVERTON (4-2-3-1): Pickford 6; Young 7 (Patterson 90min), Tarkowski 8.5, Branthwaite 8, Mykolenko 8; Garner 7, Gueye 7; Harrison 7, Doucoure 7.5, McNeil 7.5; Calvert-Lewin 7 (Beto 90).

Daily Mail player ratings, a solid 7 for Young. Always interesting to see ratings from an independent unbiased source that isn't marking him down because they prefer other players in his position.

Daily Mail 😂

Try using WhoScored.com. Statistical analysis rather than a subjective viewpoint from that rag

Independent unbiased you say ?

Literally posted that I was interested to read a subjective viewpoint.
In particular - a subjective view point not based from someone marking him down due to preferring another player.

So finding specific subjective viewpoints to suit your agenda.

When surely the best thing to do is take an objective viewpoint which doesn’t have biases to do with that. So by posting an objective statistical analysis, I removing any biases I hold about players.
