Serious question, the general vibe in here seems to be "we should win, but we won't because of Dyche"

If you were a neutral watching, why would you expect the team that finished 4th (on 68 points), to lose at home to the team that finished 15th (on 40 points)

It’s not a case of thinking we should win, and I don’t expect us to win but, a managers tactics should give you a chance, that’s why some say we won’t win because of Dyche.

Can see a back three for this game, you know. Working below:

1.) He played it against them last year in the League Cup with success
2.) It allows slightly more defensive cover
3.) Allows SD to play Tim/Jimmy G without sacrificing defensive stability
4.) Gives more height in the team, which will be useful (unsuccessfully) defending against the inevitable Onana header.

Pickford

O'Brien
Tarks
Keane :(

Myko
Tim
Jim
Dixon (Coleman if fit)

N'Diaye
McNeil

This is Dyche, Ndiaye will be dropped for Doucoure and Garner will come in for Tim...

He will think he needs to go back to last seasons XI and his favourites as quickly as possible.

I know Villa are a better than Bournemouth but as soon as Ndiaye went off Bournemouth pushed up another 10 yards and opened up more because they didn’t have to double up on him every time he picked the ball up.

Villa have defence worries.

Matty Cash is out.

Carlos was injured before the international break, he may not be back yet.

Mings is still out with his long-term injury.

Konsa got an injury playing for England. He might not be recovered in time for this match.

They might have to play 2 kids in CB and RB for this match if Konsa and Carlos are out.

The formation will only work if the Wing Backs play as such, sadly our WBs are FBs who get vertigo crossing the half way line. Maybe Garner WB with Gana in the centre could succeed.
