Atmosphere around the Club

I don't think there is an atmosphere around the club, I think there's an atmosphere on here full of knee jerk reactions, maybe you sense an atmosphere because you're spending too much time in the GOT bubble?
The thing is though, just to touch upon this, that phrase knee jerk reaction.

the same knee jerk reactions when people said we wouldn't be spending money in the summer.

Or the same knee jerkers (myself included here) that said MArtinez was a crap manager and had to go a year before he did.

I have mentioned it before, there is a slight RAWK culture on here, people labelled as knee jerkers and whatever else when they have a different opinion to the norm. I seen a poster be banned in the summer for saying strongly mata would not be sold to us. I have had the mob run in at me when i dare suggest martinez was a terrible manager 12 months before a lot of others realised it.

Point is, what if the negative people on here are right, and are just shot down for not following the mob mentality all the time?

The only bad atmosphere is in places like this
I have mentioned it in a few posts so thought I would gauge what people thought.

There's a strange atmosphere looming over Goodison Park at the moment. At the end of Martinez's reign dark clouds were removed, youth got its chance and two Everton men through and through took over for one game.

We brought in Koeman and were told we were able to compete with the big boys....

That didn't last long did it? We sold Stones and spent that money on proven Premier League players... meh summer in my eyes.

Since then I personally feel there's been a strange atmosphere around, many blues like myself are worried we have been conned again (we have reason to believe this) and now we have our manager belittling our PROUD & HISTORIC club.

Does anyone else think there's something not quite right at Goodison?

Compare this to Martinez first season (ignore the rest for a moment) we played attractive football and the atmosphere around the club was the best I've known it.

Far, far too early to be making sweeping judgements about Moshiri and/or Koeman.

Especially given that on and off the pitch, we are in a healthier position than we were at the beginning of the year. It has been small steps rather than the giant leaps some expected, but we are going in the right way. I think our supporters are going to need to come to terms with the fact that this will be a long, difficult process to put ourselves back among the elite.

But this strange atmoshphere you’re talking about, I really don’t think it exists outside of internet forums.

There's not really anywhere else it can exist. This is where fans congregate in their highest number outside of the ground, and whilst that's only for a 2 hour period, fora are continually attended and are a much greater gauge of fan opinion.

It's been a difficult few weeks. The tone here has certainly changed, who knows what the atmosphere at the club is like.

The manager and the club get a lot more leeway if results are good, and they have not been recently. Same with the general performance of the team.

After sky-high expectations in the summer and the disappointment of the window, a come-down was somewhat inevitable after the initial honeymoon period for Koeman and Moshiri which is now by and large, over.

A further announcement of an AGM, or something regarding the stadium, would be a big help for morale. It does not seem anything is imminent. Perhaps it's unfair and unrealistic to expect continuous updates when the club have nothing new or material to report.

It's really a period of transition, and within that transition, uncertainty. Uncertainty breeds nervousness and impatience.

I remain positive about Koeman and confident about his ability to turn things around. But I must admit that I was extremely disappointed in his remarks concerning Lukaku, particularly in the wake of the generally well received Moshiri interview. His much-admired honesty should have self-imposed limits as I cannot accept that he made those comments thinking that a significant proportion of fans would find not an issue with them. He is Everton manager, and in addition to his contractual responsibilities, there are other unwritten obligations to the club and its supporters.

We can only hope that Moshiri, Koeman, and Walsh are more or less at the same place as to what needs to be done with the squad and that things are progressing inch by inch towards a stadium announcement.

Who knows when things will pick up pace regarding the stadium. Most of us expect a "decent" January window too, whatever that actually is will differ according to expectations. For me, it will be next summer before a realistic assessment can be made - a poor window then and some of the concerns now being expressed will have been justified.

The team needs to knuckle down and work harder. The manager should consider his public utterances more carefully. Moshiri needs to further assert his control.

I think it's going a little bit far to describe it as doom-laden but certainly, a crepuscular gloom shrouds the club.
Can we escape the gloam and one day find our way back into the light?
...a light radiating hope and optimism?
Who can say?...

... but probably not

Good post by Jay Wood (151) on that link.
Puts it into a little more perspective.
Glad I read that post mate.

How the press can twist things hey.

In my book RK is forgiven, although he never said anything bad in my eyes anyway, not after reading the translation.
