Atmosphere around the Club

There's not really anywhere else it can exist. This is where fans congregate in their highest number outside of the ground, and whilst that's only for a 2 hour period, fora are continually attended and are a much greater gauge of fan opinion.

So fan unrest didn't exist before the internet?

Forums will always go over the top when things are going well, and go over the top when things aren't going well. On here, we've been the new Man City, the new Portsmouth, and everywhere in between over the last few months.

The stadium is a far better gauge of "atmosphere around the club", and it has been fine so far.

I think you have it spot on! Koeman speaks his mind and as Moshiri said is not sentimental! Is there one single Evertonian who doesn't expect Lukakau to leave us? Really? Is there any single Evertonian who thinks we are a 'big' club in the context Koeman is using the word? He was talking about Barcelona lads, come on? We are irrelevant in world football compared to them! I didn't like what Koeman said, but do you know what? I still think he is being honest, and that is a commodity we haven't seen at our club for decades!
I would have to agree. As much as what he said hurts as well as being perhaps a bit harsh (could have worded it better) he is being honest. Much better then being two faced or slinking around in the shadows. Also I want a manager who when speaks I believe he means what he says. That's how I feel with RK.

I don't think anybody would claim it's not stressful though mate...hell, Bobby looked to have aged about 15 years in his 3 year stint with us

I think the Lukaku statement by Koeman is rather clever.

We all know that Lukaku will go eventually.

So Koeman states as much.

What I read into his statement was: (to Lukaku, indirectly) You can go on to higher things. But to do so, you've got to deliver consistently here, otherwise the big boys will not come in for you, and you'll be stuck here.

Exactly the 'gee-up' he needs to be on top of his game consistently, and not drop down into idleness on the pitch again.

I hope I'm right, and we see Lukaku pulling his guts out every game to lift the club.

I think Koeman is a clever Manager - he appears to have already turned Ross's attitude and performance around.

I reckon you used to great on 3-2-1, you would have won the car every week.

I agree we've had a bit of anti climax after what some of us thiought may have been a high spending summer, but with Koeman also, I'm not entirely sure he was what we expected when we had an impression that we we're getting a high profile guy, which of course is open to debate, but again there's a slight anit climax feeling anbout his appointment, to me at least

But the thing for me is, we've been stagnant a bit too long, not just with Martinjez but under Moyes and smith too, we haven't really had anything to shout about, so it was obviously going to take a lot of hard work and wouldn't just be trunaround overnight.

I'm willing to be patient and see what happens in this season, but I have to say, koeman's recent comments haven't helped
