Atmosphere at Goodison

Was at Goodison at the weekend and it took until about the 70th minute before the whole crowd were signing together. It's quite bad, it's like watching a tennis match. I was sat above the Villa fans and it sounded like a party below, and that was from a team who only sold half of their ticket allocation.

My game previous to that was Norwich, and it was so quite I felt that if I yelled anything I'd get murdered!

But away fans are like that. You constantly hear the away fans at most grounds.

I've gone full circle on orchestrated support (bands, choirs etc) I used to be dead against but the more americanised our stadia have become the more I see it as the way to go.

Supporters of all clubs want their home atmosphere back to days of yore but it ain't gonna happen unquestionably it's a different sort of fan these days a fair amount of arl arses not bothered or those watching with their phone camera, wtf??

It was the World Cup in Korea that swayed me, loads of mad people singing and moving in unison with "clappers" - Dortmund are the standard bearers in europe.

I think it's more inclusive and inspiring than sitting in grave yard silence yawning and fookin about on facebook - it adds to the spectacle.

Agreed. If i see another 'fan' filming the game on their ****ing iPad i am going to throw it at Theo Walcott.

As i mentioned before, i am pretty much in favour of which our 1882 lot try & do, particularly the youth/U21 & less well attended Europa matches.

Watching matches in silence or worse, moaning & booing is deeply despressing.

Long term it will drive people away the whole thing about football is it's union of players and crowd, its not "shakespeare" sitting in silence and I just reckon this is the way.

How about Tim Sherwood mate doing a good job??

Long term d'ya reckon?

Its been dreadful for a few seasons now, i honestly believe our crowd can push us to perform better and put pressure on the opposition when we're on it.

While working the City/Ski game, when the City crowd finally got loud, Tim Howard remarked on how it could push a team to really elevate their game and fire them up.

Not a commentary on the state of Goodison or anything, but an Everton player stating they feel the crowd can play a major factor.

Yell for Timmah!

(and the away support is great. Amazing to watch on tv here... and hear the Blues fans making more noise than the home side. Regularly.)

The atmosphere at the West Ham game last season was great and the best I'd heard at Goodison for a none 'big' game for a long time. Pity it wasn't similar more often.

In the late nineties early 2000's before every game we played that song from Rocky

Vince Di Cola - War. It was played 5 minutes before kick off.

It certainly got me going.

Bring it back!
Tell Alan Myers to bring it back

The atmosphere will get better I think, Villa 2nd half was great, the season will come to the boil in next 14 or so games and the atmosphere will be important, especially as we have citeh, utd n arsenal at home. Looking forward to it

If 62% of the people who complained about the atmosphere PM'd each other and arranged to sit together the atmosphere would be 73.6% better.
