Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

Witsel owes us absolutely nothing and, at 27, is about to make what will possibly be the last major move of his career as a top level player. Makes sense to hold off and see what options he has.

Still, if he signs, just to be safe, we should call him Witless and boo him every time he touches the ball.
That is the thing, if he is literally waiting for a better offer it doesn't speak very highly of us. Means at the end of the day he either

a) comes here simply to get the money and would be off first chance of Champions league football

b) Decides after all to stay because why would he move to a mid table club in england?

Either or it does not paint us as anything other than desperate, hoping to god a better club does not come in for him because weeks after we agreed a fee he is still hoping he gets an other offer. Fantastic for the club that, we are last resorts for players.

Juventus and Everton are his two preferences. If Juventus drop out the race, and by all accounts they will, he will sign for Everton.

But why wouldn't he hold out to see if Juve can make a deal happen? Can people please stop being so sensitive about Juventus(!) being a far more glamorous destination than Everton.

Coming on here with your well thought out ,realistic and balanced opinion, who do you think you are?!

He's holding out for Juve... not Monaco

Rom wants to leave mate, he always has, the only one saying anything about him staying was Mino, which i feel was just to force chelsea to pay 75m, so he gets another ridiculous cut the fat grub. dont hold your breath waiting for him to say something positive, if anything, im expecting him to run his mouth again in the coming days...

This is why im worried... we have witnessed cthe man city take over... warchests etc, exactly the same position we have found ourselves in... but city was signing the likes of robinho, and had stars at the club that bought into the project and got city to where they are today... us everton on the other hand, cant hold onto our stars, cant sign any new stars and really dont have alot to be optimistic about with 12 days till kickoff... youve got to ask yourself, why are players not lining up to be apart of the new era? has bobby really done that much damage? or is mosh taking us all for a ride? ive got all my eggs in the walsh basket, lets see what happens.
City's wealth is on a totally different level to the rest, also the rest of the clubs didn't have the tv money riches they do today, it's a lot harder to do a 'city' in todays game.

Not really Witsel's fault though, is it? Or ours for that matter.

What a load of rubbish.

Go and sign somebody else because he has the temerity to look after his own career instead of signing for us because we want him.

ahh but that is the nail on the head. If we were a good career move he would have made it. So the only reason he wouldn't make the deal and instead wait for others (who offer CL football) is because they are better options.

although that is how transfers normally work mate, sign for us because we want him. the player doesn't draw a list of clubs he wants to join, he goes where the team wants him.

Beacause of the calibre of the players we are after I'm guessing a few will be less than excited by us at present. Christ over half of us are unimpressed so far... so can't really blame them...also the sky media group look at us with a smidgen of "oh bless" and i'm sure most footballers watch Sky sports to an extent. The crazy bells.

Blimey.

He is waiting on Juventus. Juventus. One of the biggest clubs in the world. Champions League final the other year and just won their fifth consecutive league title. Surely it would be a bigger indictment against Witsels character if he just took our money before waiting to see if a Juventus deal was possible?
