Howe is a fan and wants to take him to Newcastle according to some reports this week. Sure its only press reports but if an offer came in Id accept it tbh.

He had a difficult first season too, we just don't usually rip our players then because we talk ourselves into them when they sign.

The way he runs back and plays Zaha onside for the third goal is comical. He's just not a natural defender.

Hmmm, you don't recall Tom Cleverly do you? Anyway, you're right, last season wasn’t all rosy for him, but he did have a lot of good games for us. This season he has not kicked on, but kinda hard to do after the disruption he's experienced as well as the overall circus at the club.

I don’t agree with a lot of you. He was very decent for a lot of last season. Legitimately good. It wasn’t just athleticism and those runs. He had more discipline and better instincts. I’m honestly withholding some amount of judgement until next year between him having a rough go with covid and having to play with Keane and Holgate.

With that being said, we should bring in two new CBs and have him and Branthwaite as rotation options until both show more.
