The CBs came across for him today to lend a hand, but FFS he was up against that United attack who were obviously targeting our RB position rather than Digne.

Hes not a good full back sadly Dave, he offers nothing going forward and his positional play for the goal was very bad.
I really like the boy, but hes out of his depth at fullback.
Granted we played a side with some very good attacking players today, so his scope for getting forward was limited, but that goal was down to him not doing his job and im pretty sure he will be watching videos at Finch Farm on Monday were that will be highligted.

Watch in January when Benitez leaves it till the summer to decide on a new RB or not.
He's obviously happy to slot Godfrey there in a back four and not try and play another formation to protect him on the right.

Funnily enough he is a better left back than a right back. We definitely need a specialist in this position and hopefully he will learn in time to be a good CB - although Benitez said something about his height that makes me think it won't be under his watch.

Look at the utter trash we were linked with in the summer: Patterson. A novice at an ale house team.
Godfrey is way better option that that...and we save cash to spend elsewhere.
I think we will attempt to bring in a RB, but whether we achieve it, Im not sure.
We did try very hard last window.
