2019/20 Bill Kenwright

Yes, its Bill Kenwright's fault we're still in the Premier League with a billionaire owner, a world-class manager and a planning application for a new stadium going in tomorrow.
Yes, I suppose you would rather we were in the positions of Leeds, Blackburn, Wigan, Blackpool, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Newcastle, Bolton, Derby, Forest, Villa, Swansea, Cardiff, Queens Park Rangers, West Brom, Wimbledon and a lot more clubs who have suffered myriad fates far worse than us since then.
Merry Christmas.

Sensible post.

For all Bill's faults, of which there are many (and the fondling of Ancelotti in the Everton Unseen video today was a bit cringey, IMO) he just about knew enough of his limitations to help keep us in the Premier League, when a lesser Chairman could have sold Everton out to a Venky's / Mike Ashley / Randy Lerner / Peter Ridsdale.

I just wish Bill would keep his gob shut, quotes such as the "What a Manager" one about Martinez just paints him in a farcical light.

He loves the club though, that's never in doubt. Just wish he'd love it a little less.

No, but it has been on his watch that we have completely stagnated. We have a lot more going for us than most of the teams you have listed, and we were also in a much better position than all of those teams prior to him taking over. You are seriously comparing us to the likes of Wimbledon, Portsmouth, Wigan and Blackpool? Really? A better comparison would be Liverpool, Man Utd, Tottenham and Arsenal. It doesn't look so impressive when it's put that way.
We weren't in the same league, financially, as Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and Tottenham in the nineties - however much we would like to have been. Wimbledon, Portsmouth, Wigan and Blackpool (and about twenty other clubs) had spells in the PL during Bill's tenure and most of these clubs had bigger cash investments than us. The point I was making is that we could just have easily slipped into the championship or even lower - what we needed was stability which we got from a combination of Bill Kenwright and David Moyes. I'm not saying either was perfect, but they built the foundations for what I hope will be an exciting and trophy-filled 2020s.

Yes, he can be a tad overbearing at times and he certainly makes me cringe occasionally. But I would rather have an enthusiastic fan in that position, backed by a billionaire, rather than the mercenaries elsewhere in the PL - and that includes our unlovable neighbours and Man u.

Speaking of intellect, it's 'lack'

Bill clearly loves the club, but it was also abundantly clear that he loved owning the club even more.

He practically asset stripped to keep his grubby little hands on his toy, safe in the knowledge that the happy clappers would back his decisions. He treated those who questioned him with utter contempt, and often repeated support of the minority.

Off the top of my head.

Raised cash by selling Bellfield to construct a new state of the art training complex, only to immediately sell that back to the council who since sold it on and we pay rent.

Rejected an offer of cash investment from Paul and Anita Greg to cover the pitiful 30 million we needed to front up for Kings Dock, as it would have meant they had more say. If he didn't trust them, just say so. Don't make up some Russian with 'an encyclopedic knowledge of football' who is going to invest instead. He then produces the mystery Russians front man at an AGM and claimed he was a diehard Evertonian. Questions from the floor led to him being asked who scored the 66 final goals. Revealed as a fraud, unlucky Bill. Oh, the Russian money never materialised, the 'Fortress Sports Fund' was his smoke and mirrors to explain away why he rejected the Greg offer.

The above episode actually led to him cancelling AGM's for many years, claiming it was because of bad behaviour. (our head of comms at the time, I forget his name was more forthcoming by describing us as "Drunken Knobhead Evertonians") (I now remember - Ian Ross and his pretty frocks) It wasn't bad behaviour, it was because Bill had been embarrassed and revealed as a fraud infront of who he assumed were his adoring family. The absolute arrogance of the man.

"Myself and David both agree that Wayne is now a 50m player." Why even say it? You know you were broke and you were going to sell.

The Kirkby debacle, the lies told to try and scaremonger fans to vote with an absolute disgrace. All orchestrated by Bill and his cronies. Kirkby would have KILLED Everton. Oh well, Bill would have been in charge so that's ok.

"watch this space"

I'm sure others can add more. You're welcome to counter.

Merry Christmas.
Not forgetting the debacle with the loan setup through a dodgy board member I forget the finer details

I ain't highly strung at all.

The fact that any Kenwright haters want to paint anyone who defends him as being unhinged is pathetic really.

You have no argument. You can't argue any good points.

Basically, any guys who hate him are middle finger up guys, with no argument based on logic.

You know the retarded bunch from school, who can't argue their point. Don't really bother me.

If you have a good argument, argue it.

If you don't. Shut up.

People like to think, because they're in the masses they're in the right.

In reality, they're just thick.

I got a warning tonight. Not because I'm wrong, just because you're not allowed to annoy the dumb as f***k people who think they are right, just because they shout loader than anyone else.

I read this to the tune of 8 Mile.

I would say both as Moyes said himself they worked as a team, other owners might of sacked Moyes when he peaking because he couldn't take us to the next level, besides if Bill had been a bad owner Moyes would of got off much earlier.
End of the day one thing that era had was stability.
Kenwright and Moyes both made Brewsters out of Everton, Moyes was in the top six paid managers in Europe while managing Everton, Kenwright has made plenty with still more to come, Kenwright might like Everton, he loves himself much much more, don’t ever doubt that.

Nothing wrong with making money, how much is Carlo going to make? How much is Farhad going to make out of Bramley Moore? Making money is a sign of success, it's all relative.

Why is "making money" the ultimate goal? It is not a sure fire guarantee of success...whatever that is. Agree with your last 3 words though.. If you want to hear him tune into Radio 2 at 10 pm and listen to his "Golden Years" memories of the 50s and 60s..........will be good music I think ( auld arse me !) Will he mention the boys pen ? Errrrrrr.................................... lol lol lol
