“ Making money is a sign of success” Billy made the money, where was Everton’s success?
But what do you define as success? And how much should they have been allowed to earn?“ Making money is a sign of success” Billy made the money, where was Everton’s success?
Carlin, don’t listen to rumours look at the facts, when Billy took over we were £20M in the black, we owned most Goodison Park, if not all of it, we owned Bellefield the training ground, years later, under Billy, Goodison Park was mortgaged to the hilt, Bellefield was sold, Finch Farm was bought, then sold, and now we lease it from the Council for the foreseeable future at a huge cost, reduced, I think since Moshiri took over. Moshiri wiped out the huge depths, gathered under Billy and his cronie Phillip Green. All that mattered to Billy, according to you, was saving Everton, well that gave me a laugh, a good laugh I must admit. I bet you even believe he mortgaged his house to buy Everton. Billy has prospered since buying Everton, but Everton have gone from being one of the top clubs in the country to an also ran.Moshiri, hopefully, will be the real saviour of Everton as a football club and he’ll do it a lot quicker and better once he gets rid of that monkey round Everton FC ‘s neck, K E N W R I G H T.But what do you define as success? Dont forget if there was good money to be made from Everton someone else would of stepped in when Bill did, but it wasnt a sound investment, but thankfully he didn't care about that, saving Everton was all that mattered, dread to think were we would be now if he hadn't
I've just been watching it here in Melbourne. God he's aged....and I'm not surprised.ITV3+1 Carry on matron watch and you will see our Bill Kenwright , recent years we’ve been like a Carry on film.

Sunderland our equal. I’ve heard it all. But I suppose it helps your argument how Bill was our saviour. Some of us are old enough to remember the dark days of Peter Johnson, when Kenwright took over it was a blessed relief. The real source of our decline was the European ban and the Moore’s family selling no up. Kenwright has treated us like his train set, but none of us really know what has gone on behind the scenes and though he’s a wealthy man he has never had the money to invest properly, hence the Samuelson fiasco and nasty Philip Green.
In the end, I look at clubs like Sunderland and Villa, who were once our equal and realise that some good has come from Kenwright, it could’ve been worse, a lot worse.
I don't have a dog in the Kenwright fight but to be fair they've won 6 titles to our 9, we're hardly blowing them out of the water. And they were certainly seen as a similar club to us 10 years or so ago when O'Neill was there.Sunderland our equal. I’ve heard it all. But I suppose it helps your argument how Bill was our saviour.

By outsiders they have though. Just like people are saying West Ham are similar to us now. I'm not trying to be funny, just saying I could see what the poster was suggesting.Sunderland have never been seen as “similar club” to us in my 50 plus years as a football fan.
They have been up and down the divisions all that time.
