Sunderland were at one time very much an equal, massive club who have been f**ked over by numerous owners. At no point have I suggested that Kenwright was our saviour, simply adding some balance to a debate that is pretty much devoid of facts or reason, due chiefly to people like you.

If you’ve construed my post as support for Kenwright then you’re mistaken.
People like me wow, the fact you think Sunderland were at some point maybe a 100yrs ago. I have know clue what era you’re talking about. As big as us Is utterly embarrassing.

73 they won the cup. A big shock at the time. 92 cup final v Liverpool as a championship club.
When they finished 5th or was it 6th under peter Reid. That was seen as huge achievement.

Pathetic post and you should never talk about football again

Oh I see now, any discussion around what constitutes a big club is limited to how many years you’ve been alive. I didn’t realise, silly me.
I don’t think big clubs slip down to League One and struggle to get out of it.

I’d say 20-odd years of going to the match is a fair indication of what is and what is not a big club.

A long long time ago, before colour telly. They’ve won 6 league titles and at one time they were right up there, they have a large, passionate fan base. The point I was making is that in the last 30 years big clubs like Sunderland, Leeds, Newcastle and Man City have been in serious trouble as a result of corrupt owners. City got lucky and Newcastle are keeping their heads above water for now. I am no apologist for Bill and would like to see him retire, but he doesn’t deserve some of the bile that is thrown at him from some sections of our support.
