Actually age group wise Simms was always the better natural finisher than DCL. But he can’t match DCL ‘s workrate, holdup play, and heading ability to name a few area. He’s nowhere near replacing DCL but Simms is improving nicely, a wee bit each season, that’s all you can ask at this stage of him.

At least Blackpool have been true to their word in a way and he's played many games, unlike our other loans who just seen to go from been in the u23s and co to been on the bench if they are lucky at other teams

For all he's worth I won't try to play DCL as second striker. He should play off the shoulder of the defender, not trying to win first balls.
From what it looks Simms is more natural in that position which we sorely lack (unless we decide that we are finished with DCL, which means a big shakeup in how we play anyway).
