Boxing

He needs a belt to get the other two. Joshua is just the 4th best in the division. Wilder will make contact first and that will probably be goodnight Vienna, Fury will do the same as Usyk with probably a bit more venom in the punches.

It's a shame we didn't get that all British unification fight when they had a chance.
Seems to be a common theme on boxing. Too many fights fail to happen for a variety of reasons.

Pacquiao v Mayweather happened far, far too late, for example.

Should have been rag-dolling Usyk about from the off, let him know that he’s the smaller man. Clinching up and leaning on him to sap the energy from his legs and core. Imposing himself by taking the centre and cutting down Usyk when he gets on his bike…

What he actually did was absolutely atrocious. Stand there and paw a half jab out now and again with odd hesitant straight cross.

Weirdly the instruction from the corner never altered (as far as they showed on Sky anyway), there was no sense of urgency, no Plan B when Plan A was clearly an abortion.

Seriously shocking from all in Team AJ tonight.

The fact that he was taking selfie’s and kissing women on the way to the ring was very strange behaviour.

Maybe the fury fight collapsing and him admitting that Fury is in his head recently as took its toll.

What’s strange with Joshua is he’s slimmed down to try and keep up pace with Usyk, that didn’t work. He looked weak on the clinch and looked off balance and unstable at times in the fight. If he bulks up in the rematch then Usyk will stop him, it will go the way predicted on here few weeks back.

To be fair it’s probably for the best we didn’t get the all British fight… What an anti-climax that’d have been!

Fury every round until stopping him in the 5th/6th.

If it was a one off then I’d agree and say maybe it was the Fury fight falling through that’s left him a bit spaced out but the exact same thing happened with Ruiz.

He was supposed to be fighting that other flabby clown Miller before Ruiz had to step in after the positive drug test and smashed him.

He’s had months to prepare for Usyk.

I just think he’s the heavyweight Amir Khan... Olympic pedigree, talented and public darling but a jaw like an old school ashtray.

Which is why I had it down as Joshua on points. The idea him slimming down was do be smart, dance round him, have the stamina against a fighter who is quicker, get in and out.

Instead he rolled up in the middle of ring and got punched.

Bizarre.

But the same thing happened with Ruiz

Whomever thought up the plan for him to try and get into a boxing match with one of the best skilled boxers on the planet, needs sacking.
It would be like Everton trying to out pass Man city.
There is on really one outcome ,
You get beat.
