Wlad was actually a top notch boxer. People forget that as he was coached to be more one-dimensional by Steward to protect his chin. He took the Lennox jab and grab approach (another very talented, but chinny, heavyweight champ). Both Wlad and Lennox became much more conservative under Steward, and didn't show off their arsenals to the same degree.
The guy AJ reminds me most is Big Frank. They were both good, but robotic, and didn't seem to have fighter's instincts when in the trenches. Povetkin was good, but not an amazing natural athlete like Usyk.
Some people say that AJ was wrong to slim down for this fight, but there is a good chance he will just be even easier for Usyk to dismantle is he is less mobile.
