Boxing

I don't think the same tactic would of worked vs Uysk, Uysk is more skilled than Ruiz at controlling distance. The angles Uysk creates with his footwork means AJ's jabs to try and keep it long were missing as Uysk gets in close, hits shots and moves out of range again at an angle were AJ has to reset and finds it hard to connect.

Chisora's tactics were more effective, although he lost to a bigger more skilled boxer might have more success.

Also, did you hear McCraken in the 11th telling AJ to stay behind the jab, and saying hes boxing beautifully, surely Rob new the fight was going to Uysk unless AJ got a stoppage at this point.
A lot of shouts for AJ to change trainer after last night - personally doubt there are hidden depths to AJ's game, just waiting to be unlocked by the right trainer. But he could prob stand a change from McCracken - all athletes can benefit from that after a time.

McCracken's cv not really in question but he certainly doesn't talk a good game does he? Talking about the fight here with about as much insight as a brummie down the pub. Could be being deliberately bland with his answers I suppose as he just CBA talking about it.

The debate about the quality of Lewis’s jaw is one that’s gone on for decades , personally tend to land on the side of his issue being with concentration above anything else but for me regardless of your position to call him chinny feels frankly a bit ridiculous.
If his chin wasn’t an issue he would not have changed his style to accommodate it. He didnt have a glass jaw, but it was average.

A complacent Lewis was vulnerable, as he would not protect his weakest area.

Hes not much of a talker but he has done great things with Froch and GB boxing. You could argue there are too many voices around AJ, I'm pretty sure he does a lot of his training in London with his second coach Angel Fernandez.

Hes clearly gone a bit gunshy since the Ruiz defeat but is that down to coaching or his own mindset?

To be honest Joshua was never really a one punch knockout artist the way they hyped him up to be. The pressure and speed he was throwing them at was the issues. He’s seems to have lost that and find to a more boxing style. Ever since that Wlad fight, when he got dropped, he’s took that style up.

One of Joshuas problems is, he can’t fight against smaller fighters. Especially up close. He has problems adjusting his legs and feet and struggles to plant his feet to get his shots off. He starts to panick when pressure gets put on him too. He gets caught up in his legs and is off balance.

People will laugh at this but he would still obliterate Wilder and would give Fury a very hard fight.

I think he'd beat Wilder but I think an on form Fury has too much for AJ. Hes hard to hit clean and operates in a similar fashion to Usyk.

Usyk vs Fury would be a very technical fight. I think Whyte might even have a better chance against Usyk than AJ, he'd put him under constant pressure but Usyk would still probably win on points over 12. Fury is the only heavyweight who should be favourite against Usyk.

Joshua and Usyk both very likeable compared to Fury and Wilder who are both absolute melts

Hope Usyk cleans up the division now
Joshua likeable? the one who said and I quote “show them where it hurts, abstain from spending your money in their shops and economies and invest in black owned businesses”.

If that was said by Fury the opposite way around there would be an absolute out cry and he would probably have been banned.

Joshua is a phoney. Dillian whyte has called it for years. Sky manufactured robot who is insufferable to listen to witch all his philosophical speeches that’s he’s been provided, Fury at least speaks his own mind.

Am I meant to get angry about that quote ? I've no problem with him suggesting that black people should spend their money within their own communities.

I also don't care about him being manufactured or whatever, i don't consider someone to be a dick simply because they choose to live an uncontroversial and media friendly life in front of the cameras. I doubt when the cameras are turned off he suddenly turns into some massive bell end.

He's well spoken, turned his life around, took defeat well both times it happened and doesn't go round constantly talking smack about his opponents. I think he's sound. As for Fury speaking his mind... it would be better if he didn't.

Hard to beat the Fury of a few years back for turbo-cringe - non-ironically banging on with the bible autism about how women should be indentured servants, gays should be banned. Then he got busted for steroids. So a persona rethink was in order, which he's successfully done tbf - because his last one was AIDS, and we're now all big fans of the Gypsy King speaking his own mind.
