Very impressed with him this season. Maybe Baines will struggle to win his place back?
I agree. I just think that with the amount of time he has been out for and being over 30, it may take a little while before Baines reaches the heights we know he can. It'd be unfair to drop him but a fully fit Baines should come straight back in IMO.
For a 19 year old to come back the way he has after the City game is a credit. He had Pedro in his pocket. The couple of times he was caught with two players on his side he timed his movement like an old pro. He will come on leaps and bounds with more game time.
At present Baines, when fit, offers more of an attacking option but if the young lad can add that to his game then our left back is sorted for years to come.
He was considered as a centre back, that could be changing. He does look like he could play centre half very comfortably, if Luke Garbutt can match Galloway's performance yesterday so much the better. Young players coming through the ranks is a sheer joy. It makes being a fan of a club like Everton so much better than being a fan of Chelsea.I thought Galloway was considered more of a centre back...
Surely Garbutt will be the successor at Left Back hopefully, although he doesn't seem as solid defensively yet.
Credit to the lad after being ripped to shreds by City a couple of weeks ago. He picked himself and his arsehole up after that display and put in a solid effort.
Fair play.
