Just back from the game. Here's my conclusions:

- Brighton have some serious wool supporting them. I'm talking Deliverance, 6 fingers and toes stuff. I didn't expect that.
- Brighton are a turbo gash outfit. Letting them have 3 points off us is a clear indicator that there is a serious amount of work to do with this squad.
- Walcott and Mina slept through the match IMO. Can't believe Walcott got the full 90. Offered no support to Coleman with or without the ball
- Gomes looks jaded. A decent CM coming in January would be really useful. Hopefully we can offload Schneiderlin and get one in.
- Bernard was our only attacker who was at the races today. The rest of them were badly out of sorts.
- Coleman did well considering he had Walcott ahead of him and Mina inside him having an absolute stinker
- I don't understand why we didn't show any urgency. Brighton are useless. When we started showing urgency in the last 10 mins it was clear how easy it is to create chances against them
- The 3-4-3 left us light in CM. If we play that formation I think we need someone like Siggy in the front 3 who can drop in and support the midfield
- I'd like to see Walcott out the side for a run of games till he gets some form back. Stick DCL in and put Richarlison wide right
- Not the first time we've come out asleep after half time and handed the momentum to the opposition. Reminded me of the Watford game a bit.
- That's it.

Thanks for that mate
Watched a stream of the game and I was shocked at how poor Mina and Walcott were. I thought Seamus was poor too along with Richarlison. Thought changes could have happened a bit sooner but in the end we didn’t take the chances that came our way and defended like school kids in the second half, very frustrating.

This again is complete tosh.

Alison (booo) has come into a side that wasn't that good defensively last year. He's conceded less than 10 in 20 games.

Pickford currently plays behind a brilliant left back, a permutation of several international centre backs, Coleman who only recently has fallen off, and a def midfield of Gueye and Gomes, the latter of whom is a quality operator.

Pickford conceded a goal a game nearly at the World Cup too, behind Stones and Maguire, quality players.

He's a total mess.

He’s Gazza, but in nets, without the natural skill and more moments of madness. But sure he’s England’s No.1 so we’re blessed.

Wouldn’t be advsersed to him being sold for a kings ransom.

Whats happened to Mc Carthy, we are constantly being told he is on the verge of a game, but nothing, I'm sue he played an under 23 game about 4 weeks ago and from what I read he had quite a good game, so where is he?

Shortly after leaving Finch Farm this week he spontaneously combusted.

Nothing left except bits of metal from his legs I’m afraid.

Yes I wondered what had happened to him do you think COYBL25 that we can put him together again and call him the bionic man, because that's what we need, don't you think.

Zouma our best player, but we were poor.

This is our level though for now, the team we have is playing roughly to its level.
Were just as inconsistent as the teams around us.

Startling lack of consistency in our results.

Tactics being changed too often and some dubious performances going in at player level. Uurgh. Just no character in this side, and interestingly not a single local lad in the side, either. You only have to look at the Utd problem to understand ours. They had a DNA, and having churned their way through most of a billion quid in managers, purchases and salaries since SAF departed they've proved only that you cannot buy that (albeit you can the Europa league and FA Cup).

We're like a B movie of the same problem, trying to buy our way back to the type of quality we had. That quality was home grown, it can't be bought. Tonnes of talent in our set-up, but we need that ethic to rollover the weaker clubs during Dec / Jan / Feb. Brighton out-fought us today. That's bad. That's what Everton used to do.

One of those Everton games, mediocre oponent, and your team play so badly, without any intesity and fighting spirit. Disaster. Zuma, Bernard and Coleman only positive players, game after game can't see why is Wallcott there for 90 mins...
