Problem with this though is that they are arguing and blaming the tactics when they couldn't be arsed putting any effort in on the pitch. If they genuinely believe they played with everything they had and to the best of their abilities and then fought back against the criticism because of it then they should never play for this club again because not one of them looked arsed on Sunday. They can't win in this type of situation though can they? It's the same every time, whatever happens will be spun into a negative by fans who just don't like them. People spend months calling them spineless and pussycats and whatever, and then when it's reported that they've shown a bit of passion and argued because they were hurting, they get called out for having the gall to do it.
Tom Davies wasn't hurting enough and should never play for us again because he drank a cup of tea two days after the game, and anyone who was hurting enough to kick off in the changing rooms straight after the game should never play for us again either because it proves their attitude is dire. There's evidently some perfect level of hurt that they should all have reached and acted accordingly, hopefully they bear that in mind for future.
The article seems to suggest that Ferguson was tasked by Ancelotti to give a debrief/dressing down after the game. They were in the changing rooms for 25 minutes having this discussion. There's nothing to suggest it was anything particularly out of the ordinary as far as I can see, as @GrandOldTeam said above, it just seems to be a bit of a nothing article designed to undermine Ancelotti.Whaaaa.... not a one of them acted like a senior player.
I am left speechless at the audacity of this. Not being an athletic subscriber, I haven't read the article. I have questions though.
Why and how did this 25 minute session with Ferguson come about? Did Ancelotti ask him to do it, to try and not intimidate them into giving answers they thought would please him? Or were those brave senior pros who bottled it against a bunch of kids, bottling it by not wanting to thrash it out with the manager who carries the authority hard gained by being more decorated and successful as a manager and player than all of them put together? Another alternative was it was started by Ferguson - in which case, Ancelotti had better keep an eye on him if he is causing further unrest.
I saw the tactics shifting and the set up change over the course of that match, as I did the last game. Frankly if the players aren't capable of seeing that the manager is trying to coax them into coping with an opponent despite their inability to play, then they are either stupid or being willfully ignorant.
Things are coming to a head. Those players need a good hard look at themselves. They let themselves and us down. Ancelotti saw a loss with a team that was not his, I hope he sees this as as someone wrote earlier in this thread, " a sign of the disease, not the cure." Cut out the disease please. Let's get this club functioning in a healthy way please.
I am far from saying carlo is a dummy just that he got it wrong and left the players high and dry in this instance.Well no point in arguing with you as you have it in your mind that Carlo is a dummy ,let's all try to live with it .My view is that Klopp played the minds of our players ,they couldn't win , if we got through it was because we were playing boys and if we lost it was because we were rubbish .The best mind game I ever remember .
It is going to be along hard slog then. We lack technical players all over.I mentioned this before - Bayern Munich's top players Mueller, Robben had problems with Carlo's training methods and they revolted. Napoli had something similar against him. This new development confirms my opinion that Carlo is a good man manager and influences tactics on a superficial level but has no input at the base. Where most of Everton's players are.
Coaching sides with high technical skills in Real, Chelsea and Milan is one thing. Here the players have to be told who, when and where to pass to.
Carlo has to bring in more technical players as he can't work with this lot imo.
Even the previous wins weren't convincing.
Brands get to work!!
Some times a good old row sorts out a lot of problems, maybe they needed to have a tow, these seasons been a train wreak, we should be where Leicester are but the players have totally underperformed all season, losing to Brighton after being 2-1 up with 10 mins to go, getting tonked by Bournemouth and Liverpool. Unable to win an away game, never winning after conceding 1st away from home in 21, so on and so forthIn all honesty, If they showed total apathy while Dunc was raging at them, that would say a whole lot more than if a few had a go back.
If any manager (regardless of pedigree) had a pop at a Footballers work ethic, I'd be really disappointed if they didn't bite back.
It's the bare minimum that's expected, the players are obviously frustrated (as are the fans, the manager, the board) but this, to me anyway, clearly shows that there is massive miscommunication running throughout the club.
Yeh, I agree with all of that. I just hate this aggression towards our own players. It is so counter productive too. I was arguing with a chap yesterday who said he is going to boo our players from the start of the game v Brighton!! Like that will do anything other than benefit the oppositionTheres also the factor of a paper thin squad with a lot of guys coming back off illness and injury having to go through Christmas and coming up against a side full of fresh legs.
They were, however, well on top first half and folded like a cheap suit when got at in the second.
I'm not part of the "make em walk home, show some balls, hang em and flog em, Tom Davies can't have a cup of tea" brigade, I'd always rather look for solutions than point fingers, but a lot of those players (and the manager yes) have questions to answer after that.
Yes that's scary but it's what the gurning German had to do over the park and he managed it.Scary to think that Carlo's job is to teach these muppets the basics of football. New managers usually come in & tweak then add in the transfer window. We need to completely start again with the players attitudes, work rate, decision making, movement, availability, vision, communication, passing ability, shooting ability, heading, defending, link up play, tactics for corners, tactics for throw ins, corner taking ability, throw in ability, aggression, tempo, playing though the lines, goalkeeping, training methods to reduce injuries & probably many other things.
Look at the state of those managers mate, all totally cocked up. I cannot believe an adult blames the players.I was actually at the game. Was Carlo to blame for all the other times these spineless cowards failed?
They’ll use any excuse to save themselves copping some deserved blame. Some of them are now onto their fourth manager at the club in 3 years.
These ‘senior players’ should never play for the club again.
Yeh, full internationals from Barce etc are crap, nothing to do with managers tactics and motivation? JesusThey havent played good in any tactics under Koemam or Silva but they let's keep blaming managers. Our players are crap simple.

Well it did say IN THE PAST 4 YEARS mate so work it out. Please tell me you haven't just called Ancelotti a crap manager?
Well yeah, if your players are down on confidence and scared to make mistakes I'm not sure what good putting them under pressure at home does.
They're clearly just not a very resilient bunch and lack anyone who can take charge on the field. Our record when going behind testifies to that.
