I honestly think this is another misconception mate.
I think the only sides that have done that are West Ham and Newcastle and to a lesser extent Palace, though if we're just looking at defeats...
Leeds - mad game but they deserved to win, they were far better than us
Fulham - played our slow CMs off the park
Burnley - literally ran through us at will
Aston Villa - see above for Burnley
Most teams don't come to sit back against us at Goodison. They come to attack us.
I can take or leave the Leeds game, they're a mad team. But the other three, they weren't coming to defend, they came to take the game to us and did just that.
Edit: Fully agree on yesterday's performance. Generally very good defensively, albeit got lucky with Benrahma header and Coufal shot, but you need luck. Offensively, I don't understand why we're consistently so poor in the second half of matches and have been in every game all season, but we got the points.
Yes, we get it. You have a simple thesis explained pretty well. The question is, do you have to repeat it with such numbing regularity?100% good enough for me yesterday - I said as much straight off the bat. We played okay, bar that 20 min spell where we just aren't able to get out in the second halves of matches. If it was a one-off in that regard I wouldn't mind, but it hasn't been a one-off, as we've done it in pretty much every league game since October. Luckily yesterday we woke up again after Coufal hit the post and we were unlucky not to add to our lead at the end through King.
I accept that right now, for this season, this is what we have to do. I accept that we need better players. I don't accept that what we're seeing is going to be a way to play going forward though, whether home or away. But hopefully once these players come in, we don't have to just rely on it, even though it's a good tool to have.
Actually mate you make a great point. Its those 2/3 defeats you mention as hurting the most, so stick out more.
Fulham & Leeds really impressed me tbh.
God, Fulham hammered us. We were genuinely shocking that day

@Death, care to explain?
If it wasn't for you Cery would still be here. Don't deny it.

His plot of Weed on Oterspool prom is getting out of hand ......I think he's chewing at the trees ....And I thought @Joey66 posted some indecipherable stuff at times
This lad has taken it to a whole new level
You’re not saying it in the correct rhythmbuddy this does not rhyme,
Ahhhh come on lads, Big Igmeister means no harm. I struggle to follow him sometimes, but he's not a wum. I don't think.I posted that Thiago isn't terrible because of that 0 and 0 since it isn't what they're asking him to do and now I love him. Wonderful stuff.
I think a lot of crazy stuff happens in football. Complete randomness goes a long way in determining all sorts of things and people instead love to act like it is all earned. I mean yesterday was like the 4th or 5th time this season that a teams had a shot hit the post when we were ahead by a goal and we've gone on to win pretty much all of them. Did we earn that?
I can't help you if you aren't willing to admit to that being a part of the game. Quite frankly the whole thing is inconsistent because you're trying to paint me as hating on City when one of the posts has me talking about how City are one of the best teams in the world. But was it a tad fortunate when Bellingham scored a legitimate goal and the referee called it off for a phantom foul? Yeah, it was. That's football.
We're a midtable side that caught more breaks than the other midtable sides so we might make Europe because of it. I have no problem with saying this because I believe it. If you all think we're playing top 6 football most weeks you can have that opinion. We'll have an answer on that soon and we of course we'll have another answer to it with Carlo next season.
CARLO AFTER GAME PRESS CONFERENCE
That 2nd one sounds like he is asking questions from the wildJesus, that feedback. We've been using Zoom for everything for a year. How can't these media people have their act together yet?
