‘If they look at FFP with the problem they had with the top 6 for the super league, it would be funny, very funny’

Regardless of who he means by ‘they’ it doesn’t sound like something that Ancelotti believes is going to hold us back this summer.

Well it will be. Unless we just flout the rules.

We are right on the edge. Doesn't mean we don't have money to spend but we are going to have to sell and those players need to be shifted.

It's also why Moshiri is trying to get £100m in through a loan mechanism.

I'm not sure it's through a loan mechanism mate. It said he was after investment. I would say it's quite likely that investor will be Usmanov.

I think Conte is a live contender for the Real job personally.

edit: honestly didn’t know he was bookies favourite at 5/4 must be a real chance of this happening

Why though? He hasn't taken us to a cup final or punched us above our weight and had us qualify for europe/ Champions League he's not even got us set up in an effective system playing decent or even comitted football we look like strangers on the pitch.

Like I said if Liverpool were losing Klopp or Leicester Rodgers I could understand their fans flapping but Carlo has done nothing here. Granted he could do something but like the saying goes if my aunty had testicles...

Again I hope he stays like he deserves atleast next season to see if he can push us on but I've seen nothing from us these past 18 months that makes me worry that losing him would be the end for EFC and we no longer will be winning titles and playing European football every season.
Whilst it’s hard to disagree that there has been little tangible progress during the last 18 months, I would argue that the most difficult part of an incoming managers task is often settling into the job and forming a cohesive and achievable plan for improvement.
Experience informs me that this usually occupies the first 24 months or so of any managers tenure.
If we lose our current manager at this point it would mean a return to the start of this process and the prospect of being, once again, several seasons away from any real success.

Whatever is going on the media has been briefed in Spain about it. Possibly just trying to smoke out Conte or the like or it could just be that Ancelotti is on a long list. Like many I would be surprised by Carlo going back to a club which sacked him and which generally sacks managers every couple of years but then again it’s Madrid and it’s one of the biggest jobs in the world.

Having said that it is one of the few clubs I am scared we would lose him to. I think it is all nonsense and Madrid will get Conte or somebody else who is out of work at present but until they make an appointment this will drag on.

Real Madrid are simply not going to spend 15 million on a manager who hasn't won anything for years and they've already sacked once

If he goes it just proves we aren't allowed anything nice. Or good.
To my mind it raises questions about what Carlo has been promised and what is being delivered. Lukaku alluded to it in when he left. There was a lot of talk about big signings and it never materialised. I don’t doubt Moshiri has invested heavily in the club but I do wonder if the board sometimes over promises.

I think Carlo’s a bit fed up of being chewed up and spat out by clubs. I think that’s why he came to us. Real would do it to him again in a heartbeat.

I don’t think there’s anything in this, except maybe an improved contract with Everton, or a bit of extra leverage on transfers.
