Not sure what younger players people want to see? Gordon? The player that Carlo started in the derby ahead of far more experienced options and trusted up until this season. Nkonkou? He wasn’t even expected to be in the first team squad this season until Baines retired but he’s already started in the premier league and played first team in the calving cup.

He’s played DCL, Holgate, Davies, Godfrey, Branthwaite, numerous times in the premier league.

We don’t have a huge raft of young players that Carlo is overlooking.

Holgate and DCL and Davies were starters before he got here (well, Davies had been, whether or not he was first choice at that exact time, I can't remember). And Godfrey cost £25mil, he had better play!

Carlo didn’t have to play Holgate or DCL when he arrived. Their spots in the first team were very much still in doubt. Holgate was a few months on from returning from a loan spell and falling behind Marcos Rojo in the pecking order, DCL didn’t have many goals in half a season of football and there was clamour for Richarlison to replace him down the middle. Ancelotti made it Holgate plus one at the back before he got injured and turned Calvert Lewin into one of Europe’s top number 9s. He could have easily swept in and said that neither were good enough and not many fans would have argued with him at the time.

The problem is we accept young player as first team players very quickly and keep wanting to find the next young player to break through. Rather than Ancelotti getting credit for Holgate and Calvert Lewin there’s a demand for him to be playing Gordon even more than he has done or to give Simms a game.

Not many kids make it. ‘Play the young players’, Guardiola has only played Foden and he’s the best one they’ve got and even now he barely starts. Not many kids in the Chelsea team or Spurs team either.

Holgate was a starter before Carlo got here, and many thought he was the best centre back at the club. Calvert-Lewin was first choice striker and had 5 in 11 starts that season. I will give Carlo credit for Dom's improvement. I will not credit him for giving youth a chance because he hasn't. These were established players already.

Not youngsters, all established first teamers by the time he arrived. Godfrey cost £20m, a first teamer, not a youngster.

Yes, Nkounkou not playing is a massive red flag because he’s our only fit left back and appears to be getting left out because of his age. We’ve played a turd right footed winger, and a turd finished injury-prone central midfielder in his position, without having him as even emergency cover from the bench. Say whatever you want, but that says to me that the manager has a problem with young players.

nailed on and trying to push any other narrative is a total rewrite of history and Carlos time at Everton

A total rewrite of history? Hell are you talking about. He's been here 12 months and the whole argument is based on two players. Gordon and nkoukou. Going on like he has limitless stream of young players he's ignoring.

This is Gordon who had one europa league start before Carlo arrived, and Nkonkou who Carlo brought in himself.

can’t remember Silva getting much stick for not playing Gordon. If Ancelotti wants to not select them he can because frankly the only reason either of them are in the squad is precisely because Ancelotti took a chance on them.

Its just the assumption he is holding back this great stream of youth players when its all based on two players.
I dont think nkounko even started a single league game in france.
We all want to see them come in and do well. If they're ready.
