Have to say though why tarnish his statement with that addition.

Robbie Mustoe on NBC in the States made that point yesterday. Along the lines of "this is a team with so many injuries and so little depth they have had to name two keepers to the bench. They'd have 4 of their best 5 players out. They're beaten Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester. And here they sit; in second"
Im not going there with this pandemic going on!!Is it time for your spec savers visit?
It just reinforces the disdain the media have for anyone outside of the RS, Spurs, Man U etc.
The NBC crew are really not biased, they're usually really fair. This was more praise for us than "how on earth are THEY this high??". Robbie/s have been saying for years we are completely underachieving and should be doing consistently better than we are with what we have at our disposal. They made a point that Moshiri has spent 500m since his arrival and we have bought 17 players for 20m or more "so they have an owner that will spend, they have a HUGELY successful manager. They should be up there (they're referring to top 6, not top of the league) and anything less really is a failure"It just reinforces the disdain the media have for anyone outside of the RS, Spurs, Man U etc.
We're not liked and there's a continual agenda. I kind if like this and want us to go about our business quietly.SSN thought City where 2nd and the a RS win today would take them 7 clear. Everyone but us is in the title race. It’s weird.
Mourinho done a fantastic job at Spurs taking them from 4th not finishing in the CL last season to title contenders. It’s like what the hell are you talking about
Let's face it, it's because we don't hang around at the top for very long. If we are still in the top four by the end of January, they'll start to consider us outsiders. But right now we're simply at the top of a brief peak and will soon revert to our mean, according to them - and recent history, to be fair. It's seven years since we were live contenders for a CL place - and we imploded in the run in. Being second for 48 hours isn't going to cut through with the media, steeped as they are in an image of Everton under Bill Kenwright, hanging on by their fingernails to top flight status, losing on nearly every visit to a "big six" club and signing washed-up former superstars like Gazza, Ginola, and Rooney. We need a massive image overhaul before we will be invited into the glamour club. Thankfully, Moshiri and Ancelotti are very much working on that as we speak...I still find it dead funny though how when the media talk about the teams to challenge the RS or to finish in the top 4 they still airbrush past us even though we've done it with some of our best players out.
