It’s simple can’t you figure it out? Because we spent so much on crap before Brands arrived and we now unable to recoup much and we have to played under the rule in ffp. So our hands are tied in a sense because we can’t spend money we used to be under the pe teacher and Koeman. If we have that much to spend now, Carlo’s job will be a lot earlier as we are slowly rebuilding by getting rid of crap while spending wisely on players like James, Allan and Godfrey.
So if you are correct financial fair play and we now have a big pot to spend ,how do we when there is FFP

I thought we have to balance the sheet right? We just spent money on a lot of crap under the pe teacher and we are slowly recovering from that.

The guy doesn’t understand ffp. Because we have to play under the rule so we can’t go to the turbo mode now when buying players. Thanks to the pe teacher.
Unfortunately for you, I do understand FFP.

Because of the pandemic two accounting periods have been rolled into one to allow teams to meet FFP. Plus any losses through anything to do with the pandemic can be written off.

As for turbo mode we are talking about the real world not a console.

It is 2021 we sacked Koeman in 2017.

FFP is calculated over a rolling 3-year period . You are chatting bubbles.

A lot of those players we bought then are still here collecting massive wages limiting the amount of space we have. If we sell them under book value we incur the accounting loss. As most of them have been completely rubbish they’re either still here or they’ve been sold on or below the book value or farmed out on multiple loan deals. Either way we’ve not had the player trading profits to give us room to spend big money like we did after selling Lukaku Stones and Barkley. We’ve had no assets that anyone would want.

Slowly but surely that position will start to improve though as commercial revenues have gone up, these players are slowly but surely leaving the club, and maybe we might even see European qualification return soon. Then we can probably spend more within the limits.

So what? Our incomes are down for a big margin. Before the pandemic we have to start balancing the sheet anyway. Outspending most teams when buying Bolasie, Williams, Pickford, Martina, Schneiderlin, Siggurdson, Klassen, Rooney, Lookman, Sandro, Walcott, Tosun means nothing how much money we can recoup compare to the money we have spent on these lot. Outspending other under the pe teacher does not mean we can spend the same right now.

FFS I’d forgotten Williams and Klassen. Only the 35 mill there. Christ.

Cheers Saint Domingo for the answer. A native speaker always explain things better. @gwladysnight

Koeman left in 2017. Trying to pretend his spending has somehow stopped us from spending is absurd.

Since Koeman left we have outspent everyone apart from City, United and Chelsea. Yet you are happy about competing for 5-7th place.
Have you got a better idea then? You must be happy with 13th with the nice attacking football. You are deluded if you think spending loads on players guarantee success. Can you tell us the last time we got 4th?

We have 2 games in hand for Christ sake.
Games in hand does not = points in the bag...especially when 1 is Vs City.
Villa, not so much, but its not nailed on - no game is
If we top 33pts for the 2nd half of the season, aka, 66pts in total, I will eat the requisite plate of humble pie

Deal.

We finished 4th in 2005 with a shoestring budget. If you look at the current table then the same manager is 3 places above us despite having a fraction of our budget.

The funny part is that you defend Carlo by saying do you want to finish 13th. Under Moyes with no money we finished 4th. Last season despite outspending 75% of the League we finished 12th.

You are funny. You basically are comparing apples and oranges. You use the climate of 2021 and compare that in 2005 when Moyes had next to nothing to spend. Citch was playing in lower division at the time. Things do not stay still. Was there a Sky6 in 2005?

So you are telling me the season finishes at this moment? Getting above Everton at this moment 19 games though a season, do not necessarily mean the same in May.

Why on earth you blame that on Carlo? He did not spend Silva’s money. Think you are laughable to be honest. You are projecting a team spending x amount of money so they should get x position in the table. It’s not an equation this isn’t maths.

And 12th you better ask Silva why.
