Same....it’s not so much the results for me, it’s the appalling performance again only 2 weeks since the last one.

we haven’t really beaten anybody really convincingly for months and that includes the mighty Rotherham.

It’s the fact we have learned nothing from the previous defeats that annoys me. It was a like for like repeat of the Newcastle game only this time they battered us from the left.

I get it’s the player that go out and put the effort in but it seemed like there was just no plan in place to deal with their fast pressing game as against Newcastle, Leeds, Leicester etc..... it was the same last season at home to Southampton, Bournemouth, Villa etc.... I don’t know if it’s just because we don’t have the personnel to deal with that style, if which so we may as well just resign ourselves to losing at home more often, or it’s something we just aren’t working on in training. Either way it’s terrible and we shouldn’t be just brushing it under the carpet and making excuses, this isn’t the first time it’s happened it’s about the 4th/5th/6th time now we’ve been penned in at home to a lesser side, it’s not good enough. Any other manager would have been called out for this crap. See Silva against Norwich.

You tell me? It’s madness to suggest we likes that kind of performance though. No way at half time he doesn’t tell them it needs to be much better.

He should’ve also acknowledged his massive tactical blunder and put an actual striker on, or a wide player that can run, or a centre back that can head a ball.

Whilst I don't disagree, what is your suggestion for dealing with the fast pressing game given our current squad? Personally I think our only option is to get a big man up front and hoof it, until we can get some faster players in.

Just go with the ride I guess.
Nothing we can do or say makes any difference.
The club are obviously going to blow a marvellous chance to get top 4, as every time we’ve had a chance to get back in there we’ve been subjected to garbage like yesterday.
They don’t want it enough.
For all we slate those lot across the park, they have at least got fire in their bellies.
We have none and any good work done v Spurs was completely undone again yesterday, this suggesting yesterday was the norm, Spurs was a one off.

That was a game he should of brought someone off before HT it was that bad
Yep, but he did nothing, again.
He needs calling out for it.
Koeman would have been, Silva would have been, Gravy would have been.
Not turning on him before anybody starts, but he seems to be quite consistent in not changing things early enough and inviting the inevitable.

Dunno mate, I just want to see it worked on, I want to see changes a different approach to deal with it. If it was a one off you say fair is fair we just had a bad day at the office the better team won, but this this happening all to often at home now. We can’t just surrender and say we simply don’t have the players to deal with that style of pressing play, pretty much admitting we don’t have a good enough team to cope with lesser sides. I’m not paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to work with these players week in week to know their strengths and weaknesses, to do research on our opposition and work with the players in training to set us up correctly against lesser teams we should be beating at home.

Playing direct to Richarlison and getting someone fast close to him. That's the only option as far as I can see, but I'd fancy it to work. It gets us up the pitch and puts doubt in their full backs minds as well. It's very easy to bomb forward when the opposition make no effort to get the ball forward quickly.

I hate our slow paced possession football. I want to see us play direct and aggressive. We have the players for it.

He can only do so much and he has to use his squad.

Players don't have any excuses for the start of that game, we had no drive or desire to effect that game in the first half.

Too many players are looking for the creative players too much instead of taking on their own responsibility and building attacks.

It's too easy to just pass it to James or Digne then that's my work done. Gomes, Coleman, Holgate all guilty not that.

Carlo needed a chance after that 1st half, bringing King and Iwobi on for the start of the 2nd half would have given a more positive response especially with Richarlison so isolated so we needed a more attacking element to our game.

Players like Davies and Doucoure in particular looked dead on their feet so they could have been the two replaced in the 2nd half.

Ultimately this is another games that fringe players haven't taken their opportunity and failed in their own performance and then the team.

We say it every season but it's a huge summer. We have shift a few more on and bring back loan players who have done well to bolster the squad.

The big change for me, is going for the press from the off, the amount of space Fulham had yesterday was disturbing. With Allan back we at least have a snapping turtle who can do that, similar to when we had Gana

He’s tried to rotate through this period to protect the squad from injuries. It hasn’t always worked but imagine in Mina and Keane had gone down at some point or we’d been missing DCL for longer than we had. There’s no excuse after the derby though as we go to one game a week mostly. That’s the time to be playing the strongest team every week.

Resting players, rotating is fair enough. The players we had out there on paper were good enough to be at least matching Fulham’s level of performance. What where his excuses for all the home defeats to the lesser sides last season and the others, Newcastle in particular where we’d come off the back of a two week break? It’s not good enough mate and needs addressing. Saying we were just tired or just couldn’t cope with the pressing game is not really good enough, it’s like saying you’ve got genital warts but refusing to go to the clinic to get them treated, seems we are doing nothing to deal with this style of play.
