I don't think this is true. Cenk imo would accept even half of that. Maybe close to £100pw. There were reports in Turkey that he will get 3.5 to 4M Euros a year.

Replacing him with Demba Ba used to be half decent him, but at 32 and had a bad leg break a while back, cant see them having to pay to much for him, if he is fit could score loads in there league .

Demba Ba is a free transfer for Besiktas and if happens he will be backup for Negredo in the league that's all we expect from him. If he goes beyond that then we're in luck.

Problem is, we're bringing in all these average players on well above average wages. The squad needs completely overhauling but it's going to be incredibly difficult to offload a lot of them.

I've no idea if this Cenk guy is going to be any good in the premier, but talk of £145k pw is silly. There can't be that many players in the Premier on higher salaries than that (maybe 20ish). United, for example, have the joint highest average weekly earnings at £100k, and theirs will be heavily loaded by massive salaries to big earners like Lukaku, Pogba and Zlatan. Same with City. The rest of the big boys have average first team wages of less than £75k.

This guy is strikingly similar statistically to strikers like Kevin Davies. He holds it up, he lays it off, he tries to occupy defenders in the middle. But he never dribbles and is extremely slow for a centre forward.

He has his pros and cons but in a team already utterly devoid of pace, especially in full back areas, I don't think this guy is the ideal choice. I'm only basing this on the numbers and he has a number of strengths, but I'm not convinced.

He isn't quick, but he's a terrific dribbler of the ball. It's certainly one of his strengths, so not sure what games you are watching.

Genuine question. How often have you seen him play in full games and not clips from youtube.
What are you basing your assessment of him being slow on as different reports that I have seen alternate between him being fast and slow.

Based on his physique alone I would expect him to have some pace as he seems to have a light build rather than the battering ram that was Kevin Davies.... a player that I thought was a decent player always.

Which reminds me. We do exactly the same with average managers. Hate to think how much we've paid out in compo over the last 2 years alone. Unless the current guy starts shaking things up you can expect another shedload in the summer.
