He has told everyone in a recent interview that he is going no where and wants to fight for his place, he said the fans love him.

Apparently he has rejected palace

Yeh, he wants to fight for his place not just sit on the bench taking a wage as you put it, making him sound like a mercenary

...we really don’t know if that’s the case. If the club are willing to release him, then he must know he’s not getting much game time. Indeed, it could be argued that the best chance he has of getting a place at Everton is to go elsewhere and prove how good he is.

The reality is, it seems he has no future at Everton and there must be a good chance that he eventually goes.

Indeed, we will see. I personally think he would come good in a good team (that is playing well).

....I’ve not particularly rated him since I first watched him, he doesn’t possess great technique, he’s not particularly fast and he’s not particularly powerful. A CB in this league will be chuffed to see his name on the team sheet.

He’s an ok finisher, he needs to find a level or team where the attributes he lacks are not so vital.

Let him go, we'd still have Richarlison, DCL and the option of Walcott until the end of the season. I'd rather we kept our powder dry until the summer window when options should be better.

He is slow, yes, but I actually think his technique is OK and his finishing is very good. As an optimist, I think he needs a goal and a bit of confidence and some decent service.

I live in hope

...we need forwards who can create from very little, who go to war with CBs and worry them with pace and power. You used the descriptor ‘ok’, but ok is adequate and at this level and in our team set up we need somebody much more effective.

I like the lad, I just can’t for one minute understand why Walsh wanted to buy him when he clearly isn’t what we needed.

I still don't think he's as bad as folk are making out here, his hold up play looked alright last season and the beginning of this one. Like the rest of our expensively assembled squad, he looks devoid of confidence. This has lead to a general drop in effort and knock on effect of losing battles all over the pitch. Then we also get on their backs.

I wrote this back in August:

He was the player we needed. And given that Silva worked with forwards like that at Watford, I dont know why we weren't in for him. He'd have been a cult hero here by now, IMO.

Agree, he is not suited to our game at all I just want him to do well.I still think he would do well in the right team in the prem.

A loan may be the best, because if he does well, we can ask for the same fee we paid from a host of clubs in the summer.

But as I've just written in the transfer thread, who actually does that well on loan from us.
