Champions League revamp

I'm surprisingly calm about the whole situation. I think my love for the game is definitely on the wane or my advancing years just makes me care less about everything.

If Everton join this crock of... I'm officially out. If Accrington Stanley get bought and climb the ladder then they should reap the rewards just like City, Chelsea and Spurs have. Want a closed shop, up sticks and move to the MLS.

I'm furious about this. 12 teams putting themselves above hundreds of others purely for greed. The gall of them to claim this will help the wider football pyramid while their 15 founders members will share €3.5bn just signing up.

If these clubs are allowed to stay in their domestic leagues then it is pointless for everyone else. There will just be no chance of competing. It's already incredibly difficult, after this it will be impossible.

Also, good luck to Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U and Spurs fans when they slowly realise that their owners have no interest in improving their teams once their finances are ring fenced. Zero incentive to spend loads when it makes basically zero difference to the bottom line.

I hope UEFA, FIFA and the relevant domestic FA's stand their ground in telling them all where to go

Probably why they took six clubs and not five then.

Explains why Spurs were invited

They dont need a vote.

Breaking Premier League Rules means expulsion.

Premier League rules state they cant play in any unsanctioned tournaments or leagues.

Yep, but would the PL be bothered though as it doesnt really affect them. Unless there is a link to UEFA who put pressure on. The PL cant do nothing

Dont think it will happen. Just postering for more money. Soccer has been pretty dead for a while now with too much money ruining it. Can see more people following lower league teams instead. Which in effect what we would be if it did happen. The compromise will mean they grt more of a slice of the pie and get to own more rights to stream games maybe. Whatever happens they wont rest till they get more.

Think its gone a bit far now

MLS at least as salary rules to keep some form of parity

I hope fans of these clubs completely forfeit watching them in the super league. Without tv subscriptions there's no market for advertising revenue and the whole thing falls over. FA, UEFA, FIFA need to be strong here and say if you want to be a part of that then you forgo being part of our competitions, as do your players. Fundamentally football is in this situation because the above have been weak allowing the power clubs to develop and monopolise.

The big worry for me is if they don’t get kicked out then it’s well an truly finished.

I wouldn’t see the point in even watching the footy on the tele let alone going the match. The Prem would be a joke. The only way this works either way they stay with no super league or they go with no domestic league.

Not kicking them out of the League (Association really) would kill it anyway, lack of competition.

They shouldn't just be allowed back in either. Banning them forever isn't likely (sadly) but banning them for years and having them start at the bottom of the pile is.

It would be nice to think that this will change how football is presented, less bias towards certain teams.
