Champions League revamp

Have actual details of this fiasco been released at all? Will there be relegation for instance? How many fixtures will there be? Do they expect to continue to participate in their home leagues?

They’ve burnt their boats on this, let’s hope the condemnation is universal, press etc. Love to see them given a one season ban by the Premier League for starters, and see what their players make of that.

No relegation. 20 clubs in total, 15 permanent, 5 by invite. They expect to continue in their home leagues, despite this permanent advantage.

Let the "big six" sod off. Kick them out of the league and start again. Get them gone ASAP. I want the bottom to fall out of the game, its already become a corrupt cesspit. This represents a chance (probably the last chance we'll ever have) for a return to something like what football used to be. Actual football, a sport played by actual football players instead of the drama driven crapshow filled with diving, cheating prima donna multi-millionaire players and borderline evil billionaire owners.

The "super league" would go bankrupt within a decade once the novelty of seeing Man Utd play Barcelona in New York three or four more times a season wears off and it dawns on the clubs that local football played against clubs that are supported by your friends, neighbours and work colleagues ect will always matter more then any manufactured "big game" will.

Meanwhile, after a painful transition for the rest of us, our clubs we will adapt and eventuality benefit from the change, especially match going fans. Ticket prices will have to drop meaning more people will be able to attend games, meaning bigger crowds and probably a better atmosphere with much more optimism. Sure the playing standards might not be as high and we might not get as many foreign players in the game but so what? I'll gladly trade that off and see more local lads get a chance to play.

Bottom line here, I support Everton football club. I don't support us because we're in the premier league or anything else but because Everton is my club, just like it was my Dads club and my Grandad's club and I'll continue to be here in whatever position the club is in, with or without those horrible greedy rats that are trying to ruin this sport. ETID!

They basically betting on the outrage dying down and sadly it probably will

I can't see how it will die down - this would murder the footballing pyramid. Millions won't bother anymore if these clubs are still allowed in domestic leagues - I certainly wouldn't. What's the point in going if it just supports this?

Even if one of the invited 5 win the whole thing they still only get half as much as the other 15 do for just being in it...what a joke

What do they think is going to happen going forward?

Say DCL (or any other player from any other team) bangs in 30 next season and then a 'Super League' team wants to buy him.

Well we know you are getting an extra £300m so we value DCL at £150m.

Kthxbye.

I assume there'd be a transfer embargo. If they went full hog in isolating them anyway.

The leagues and UEFA hold all the power here if they have the balls to use it.
