Yeah I was wondering why Dortmund was getting plaudits when they said they were in favor of the CL reform when the CL reform is basically a first step to a "S00P3R LEEG!". It guarantees spots to clubs by co-efficient regardless of where they finished. Which means those clubs are in Europe again, which, again, raises their co-efficient. It effectively becomes a closed loop.

Because even that's not good enough for the greedy parasites. They probably also wanted an additional share from the TV revenue pot and additional qualification guarantees as well. Filthy barstewards.

It just reeks of desperation. They must be losing a lot of money at the moment.

They're deluded if they think excluding the Germans and French (along with other big European sides) will end up with a bigger product than the current champions league. The fact that Arsenal and Spurs are there and the likes of Bayern Munich and Dortumnd aren't, instantly devalues the competition.

It seems to be partly a response to these changes to the CL format as well, which are also horrendous. Basically it's a group of the biggest clubs in European football (with UEFA seemingly doing their best to pander to them) trying to retain a proper stranglehold on their power due to their utter fear that it'll continue to slip from them in the post-Covid world. Basically they're desperately trying to avoid any potential 'power shift' from ever happening in football.

The professional game is dying.

I'd say all this news/fallout has completely devalued remaining games and competitions this season now. Might be easy to say as we're not competing in them but it's all gone for me.
