Champions League revamp

So they’ve all signed a 23 year deal, and are sticking their tongues out saying you can’t stop us from doing it.

Only response at this point is to kick them out of their respective leagues. Enjoy your dead league.

Exactly get rid of them - they think the domestic leagues will cave in to them they'll crap themselves if it ends up being about 15 clubs with no relegation and not much to play for them clubs die within 5 years it would literally be Merseyside Red Cauldron playing Porto in Saudi Arabia at 5am.

Fans of those 12 clubs walk away and domestic leagues boot them out.

I don't think there'll need to be a vote - they've broken the rule against participation in non-sanctioned competition so blatantly and clearly that they're simply not eligible to compete in the Premier League as a result.

So the Premier League can just claim breach of contract and bin them.

They can, but will they? That route leads to litigation from both the clubs getting kicked out and the clubs driven into administration. Securing the 14 votes using league rules as the grounds cuts off both those avenues.

I would bet that we're a "yes" for immediate reprisals along with Fulham, WBA and Sheffield, who all get a reprieve that would probably offset the rights clawbacks. I would guess that Ashley is a "no" that will require inducement, since he appears to want out and has a short time horizon. I don't know enough about the immediate-term situations of the other clubs to make an educated guess as to where they stand.

Will they even be bothered about still Competing in national leagues? 15 teams is nearly enough for a full season
That's the thought. People are talking about them getting thrown out of the Premier League or UCl as if it would be of any real significance. I think we all agree it would be a good show of strength, but I think the people who think these leagues have more power than some of the biggest clubs in the world and the absolutely horrible ruthless bastards who own them are in for a bit of a nasty surprise. Either way, it's going to be a pretty hideous and interesting spectacle to watch.

That's what we'd all want to happen. But the reality is, it won't.

So there needs to be punishment where it hurts...and that's financial

thats impossible to do with them in both the SL and the PL though - they can absorb any financial punishment the PL could dole out

kicking them out and competing against them is the only financial punishment that would ever work
