Champions League revamp

But surely the same logic applies to the ESL in regards to the competition laws

Again - I am no legal expert, but the arguement is that they are free to set up another competition and UEFA's punishments (banning clubs / players etc etc) simply wouldnt stand up in a court, because it would restrict competition.

Financially it aint great right away however you have to ask the question what positive do we have currently paying Benard £120k a week, Tosun 80k a week?

Would you rather have James Rodriguez in your team finishing 7th-8th every season or Liam Boyce but the chance to actually win the league / FA Cup?

I know which one I would rather.

I agree that we have massively overpaid for players, but I want to see Everton top of the league, winning things and beating these so called Big 6 every time we play them. You cant pretend that if those 6 left the league and we won it, there would not be constant jibes and snide remarks from other fans that we only won it because all those teams above us were removed.

Over time the league would recover from Chelsea, Man City, Spurs and Arsenal not being there, they are big, but not that big. Really its about losing the global appeal of Manchester United and Liverpool, that massively affects the TV money and it would take a long time for that to recover and what do we do in the interim? If the TV deal was ripped up tomorrow we still have 25 or so players on massive money, most of them we wouldn't be able to sell, we might have to sell the good players to finance the club. The only good part would be that all the EPL teams would be in the same boat.

The only way this can be solved is through relegation of those clubs. The big clubs lose money, it sends a massive message, player prices/wages would come down overall across europe and most leagues would become a more equal playing field. The only issue would be the TV Revenue, but it'd surely be in Skys interest for this to happen too? I couldn't see the new ESL being via Sky, more so Amazon Prime or its own subscription.

Relegation isn’t enough- kick them out!

thats impossible to do with them in both the SL and the PL though - they can absorb any financial punishment the PL could dole out

kicking them out and competing against them is the only financial punishment that would ever work

But like I said in my previous posts...you'd create registration of players allowed to play in one or the other. A suggestion would be in a Super Club bought from another Super club that player would be ineligible for the domestic league.

If a super club bought a player from a non- super club, there would be taxed and tariffs to pay in order to filter into the domestic league etc.

Add on points deductions and transfer embargos for breaking PL rules, you lessen their power in the domestic league to create a division until they want to leave themselves without the loss in TV money if you kick them out.

Embarrass them until they quit.
