I agree that we have massively overpaid for players, but I want to see Everton top of the league, winning things and beating these so called Big 6 every time we play them. You cant pretend that if those 6 left the league and we won it, there would not be constant jibes and snide remarks from other fans that we only won it because all those teams above us were removed.

Over time the league would recover from Chelsea, Man City, Spurs and Arsenal not being there, they are big, but not that big. Really its about losing the global appeal of Manchester United and Liverpool, that massively affects the TV money and it would take a long time for that to recover and what do we do in the interim? If the TV deal was ripped up tomorrow we still have 25 or so players on massive money, most of them we wouldn't be able to sell, we might have to sell the good players to finance the club. The only good part would be that all the EPL teams would be in the same boat.

People think this way as they have been spoon fed Sky tv propaganda of "der big 6" when its the Rich 6 and nothing else.

Spurs, Man City and Chelsea couldn't hold a candle to the likes of Everton, Aston Villa etc historically and dont think otherwise.

If we won the league finishing above the likes of Villa, Leicester, Leeds, Wolves etc I would get smashed in town and attend the victory parade just as much as I would if we finished 1st ahead of 9th place Arsenal.

It's mad how people don't understand relegation does next to nothing. They'd come up the following year with their reserves.

The problem is that they've undercut the very foundation of football. They need to not be allowed to compete at any tier, full stop. It's the only possible sanction against this.

TBF I think it’s possible to overstate the financial damage - yes, it’s going to be a reduction but they were the greedy sods who were hoarding a lot of it to themselves anyway. Everyone else had already had to cut their cloth accordingly.

A PL shorn of them, which is much more equal and with fans back as well is going to be of global interest still, especially as a visible alternative to this corporate farce. The same goes for the CL.

I wouldn't leap to that conclusion. I'm guessing that they know what they're doing from a legal standpoint.

I do suspect that they may have misread the room in the governance meetings, however.

No. Sorry but for me, no. They shouldn't be allowed to compete at all with any club of any size playing in a sporting meritocracy. It's as unfair on, pfft I dunno... Blyth Spartans as it is on the other 14 clubs in the Premier League.
