If it happens this is legit the biggest story in history of professional football isn’t it ?

Try to keep up mate.

A CL with teams like Bayern, PSG, Dortmund, Napoli, Sevilla, Villarreal, Ajax, Leicester, Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham etc would still be profitable long term.

Project fear of the league being destroyed is nonsense. Short term it would weaken us but if Usmanov keeps bankrolling us and the power vaccum left behind see's wealthy investors buy into the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Leeds etc then English football will prop itself back up.

There should be something in place though to stop further clubs leaving to the Super League such as a signed contract between all other English Clubs.
Everything is up in the air but I'd be reasonably sure of some degree of a general crackdown on silent 3rd-party investors as a quid pro-quo for any settlement / compromise that Everton and other clubs would be ok in agreeing to, if if stops the Super League concept.

If it doesn't stop it and there was a split, which is highly unlikely, I very much doubt that we would retain the same appeal to Usmanov either for current sponsorship, or the prospect of taking a shareholding in the longer-term.

That's why this whole thing is critical, for every club in one way or another.

The fact that all these 12 clubs have apparently all signed contracts for 23 years for this Super League, surely there would be HUGE fines to them by the organisers if and when they pull out?
Interesting, I dare say that the initial contracts would be full of "subject to" clauses though?

There'd be a renegotiation clearly, but as stated before these companies signed contracts with the Premier League; that league still exists.

It's basically an act of God scenario. The Premier League can't be held accountable for six members clearly, blatantly breaching contract.

Im not sure about that, there was a renegotiation of the TV deal when we restarted last season because there was no fans in the stadiums PPTV in china refused to pay the £160m it had promised for the remainder of that season and it ended a multi year deal worth £523m. The new deal in china with Tencent is worth £25m per season

Yep - that is a real possibility alright; either way it ends up in courts. I still dont believe the PL will cut of so much of themselves & there will be some form of middle ground, if it ever happens.

doubt it - in addition to the legal issues @Tubey and others have raised, there’s the simple fact that they’ll find it very difficult to say the PL shouldn’t be able to do something that is so incredibly damaging to it (never mind UEFA).

I’ve no doubt they’ll hand over fortunes to lawyers, but I’d be amazed if they won. They’ve already made steps because they’re going to be kicked out after all.

With quite a few road blocks now being put up:
German clubs (seemingly French) not on board.
Potential international ban etc.

Say they throw their hands up and abandon the league, what happens to UTD, Liverpool etc
They'll come back with tails between their legs, the league just forgets about it and moves on?

Most likely.

However, I don't think that's a likely outcome. They will all be on the hook contractually with JP and others, and the contract probably has hefty withdrawal penalties to serve as a commitment mechanism to prevent them from wavering.
