Champions League revamp

With quite a few road blocks now being put up:
German clubs (seemingly French) not on board.
Potential international ban etc.

Say they throw their hands up and abandon the league, what happens to UTD, Liverpool etc
They'll come back with tails between their legs, the league just forgets about it and moves on?

nope relegated to conference north even when they come crawling back

If this happens then they should all be immediately relegated to non league and every single player released.

There should be something in place though to stop further clubs leaving to the Super League such as a signed contract between all other English Clubs.

There already is one.

I take your point though - one likely outcome if this is indeed war will be the addition of a massive penalty clause agreed by the remaining participants for leaving, or agreeing to join another league.

Yes exactly

A CL with teams like Bayern, PSG, Dortmund, Napoli, Sevilla, Villarreal, Ajax, Leicester, Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham etc would still be profitable long term.

Project fear of the league being destroyed is nonsense. Short term it would weaken us but if Usmanov keeps bankrolling us and the power vaccum left behind see's wealthy investors buy into the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Leeds etc then English football will prop itself back up.

I think if you are UEFA, you've still got a huge model of teams, who they'd class as "big".

Porto, Benfica, Roma, PSG, Marseille, Ajax, PSV, Lyon, Bayern, BVB, Leipzig, Sevilla and then eventually teams like Everton, Real Sociedad but there's still a competition to be had there, they just need to help the Italian, Spanish and English teams establish themselves, and they'll have a huge pull.

Back in the day Frankfurt, Reims, Saint Etienne made finals, so they know there are big teams they can nurture.

and my next two words, which you chose not to copy where???

I was solely talking about UEFA & completely agree the PL are legally on a much more sound footing.
Here's your next two words: '...and UEFA's..'.

So there's your next two words in your post: '...the arguement is that they are free to set up another competition and UEFA's...'

And the impact of those additional two words is...?

Don't bother, you've lost the argument...

I agree that we have massively overpaid for players, but I want to see Everton top of the league, winning things and beating these so called Big 6 every time we play them. You cant pretend that if those 6 left the league and we won it, there would not be constant jibes and snide remarks from other fans that we only won it because all those teams above us were removed.

Over time the league would recover from Chelsea, Man City, Spurs and Arsenal not being there, they are big, but not that big. Really its about losing the global appeal of Manchester United and Liverpool, that massively affects the TV money and it would take a long time for that to recover and what do we do in the interim? If the TV deal was ripped up tomorrow we still have 25 or so players on massive money, most of them we wouldn't be able to sell, we might have to sell the good players to finance the club. The only good part would be that all the EPL teams would be in the same boat.

It wouldn't bother me as it would be like getting stick about football from a fan of a netball team. It would mean nothing.

The rivalry doesn't matter if this goes ahead.

Might end up being the shake up that has been needed for years anyway this. Let them have their shameful and embarrassing super league and play each other till they are bored to death but very rich and meanwhile kick them all out of their domestic leagues and cup competitions and sit back and enjoy much fairer and balanced football as all the teams have an equal chance of competing and winning and as the wealth is redistributed across the entire football league and not just in the hands of a few greedy feckers.

Now the committed they should each receive a 40-50 point deduction and a £100m for even suggesting it.

if any club participates then it’s expulsion and all titles expunged from the record books and council withdrawing license to host any home games.

if they want to rejoin they start from the very beginning at the bottom of the football pyramid.

Should any players who participated should be banned from all international competition, so no World Cup or continental tournaments.

that’s what I would do
