Champions League revamp

That's a contract agreeing to the risk of being physically beaten. There's a difference - namely, that they think they can win and are getting paid for the spectacle.

Or saying what the clients would love to hear? I bet people will always think the cases are on their sides and they will win the cases because their reasons and evidences provided are true and valid.

A good attorney tells clients what the law says, or is likely to say with approximate probability, whether or not that's what the client wants to hear.

It is possible, based on what you described, that your former boss is not a good attorney. I don't have the information necessary to judge.

by them though

someone mentioned Lance Armstrong earlier and there’s a clear parallel to this - he had loads of deals and they all ended because of his antics; the cycling authorities weren’t liable because they banned him

Yep - that is a real possibility alright; either way it ends up in courts. I still dont believe the PL will cut of so much of themselves & there will be some form of middle ground, if it ever happens.

Yep there are still enough historically big or currently good teams, including Roma, Lazio, Benfica, Porto, Lyon, Atalanta, Monaco, Leipzig plus tge obes you have mentioned and a few others.

It may even make it a fairer and more exciting competition as aside from Bayern and PSG the others are a bit more level.
That’s genuinely an exciting, fresh prospect.

A clearing away of the cretins who’ve made the latter stages of the CL a forgone conclusion year upon year.

So these teams dont want their players playing tor their countries, how disgraceful is that.

This is where the players need to push back. The WC is the biggest in the world, players are made there and some of these players, especially Brazilians are obsessed with playing for their country.

I think most top clubs would be happy if their players didn't play for their countries. They would prefer they only played for them. That's nothing new. Clubs only allow it because of the sanctions that are in place now, if a player is not released to play for their country, they then miss games for their club.

My guess is that there’s a chance the likes of benfica, Ajax, Monaco could still be part.
Would be great if all other clubs just left those 12 to it though.

I suggest you read your own post, and my reply properly.

This is what you said: '...the arguement is that they are free to set up another competition...'

Under the Premier League rules, they are not.

That is the singular point to which I replied.

End of...

and my next two words, which you chose not to copy where???

I was solely talking about UEFA & completely agree the PL are legally on a much more sound footing.

With quite a few road blocks now being put up:
German clubs (seemingly French) not on board.
Potential international ban etc.

Say they throw their hands up and abandon the league, what happens to UTD, Liverpool etc
They'll come back with tails between their legs, the league just forgets about it and moves on?
