Champions League revamp

It's interesting, because contracts revolve around players being 'registered' to clubs.

If the clubs are no longer sanctioned, technically the players are no longer registered because they haven't signed contracts for a different competition. It's why free agents can sign outside transfer windows as they are unregistered, so can register whenever, whereas others can only move at pre-selected times.

So, in theory, every player at these Super League clubs, if the clubs are 'deregistered', would have to sign new contracts with their clubs in relation to the Super League, but would be free to move to another UEFA-sanctioned club because the players are 'deregistered'.

Whether that'd hold up in court... pfft. Dunno.
Alternatively dcl and richarlison can walk away from our contract and join a super team in super league which fifa and uefa have no jurisdiction over.

Do people not get that these clubs owners (of the scab) don’t give a [Poor language removed].

they want to get kicked out. They want the kick off. As they are going to sail off into the sunset anyway. They want the revenues from elsewhere and a blank slate to negotiate what they want. If they don’t get it now, they’ll just keep coming beck at this.

We need to sack them off entirely and look at completely reforming the game. Anything else is just Stockholm syndrome.
they are taking the p*ss out of everyone and they know they can because everyone is terrified what will happen without them.
do people just like inferiority or something?
Tell bullies to get f*cked. There’s no alternative.
Agree. But in my mind it only works if super league players are disqualified from playing for their national team. I think it's the one thing that gives the rest of the footballing world a competitive fighting chance.

I don't think it'd work in reverse, because the contracted terms would still exist for them. They wouldn't for the six as the club is ineligible for those competitions.

So for that to happen they'd be in breach of contract for not fulfilling commitments.

It is interesting. If the clubs actions prevent players from representing their countries, then there may be legal options.
Also, what a fabulous way for FIFA to rehabilitate itself. It can look like the saviour of football.

Oh no, that one is easy - international selection is at the discretion of the international bodies. If they disallow selection for any reason, that's the end of it. They dictate the eligibility.

Suspect we should probably refrain from contract laws when we have no idea what is written into their contracts.

The contracts will definitely state the competitions they'd be expected to compete in, just like any employment contract would state where you would be based.

I can say that confidently. Unless they had the mad foresight to state "or any other competition the club enters" then yeah, there's wiggle room - but it'd literally have to use the word "or"; if it's "and" they're goosed.

If the Premier League have to give permission, and they have clearly said they won’t, how is this not the end of it?

The Premier league have said no, but the clubs are committed to joining this super league, so it's now who blinks first. Do the 6 teams climb down or do the Premier league cave and give these teams what they want?
