I think if this super league was a 20 team tournament where everyone had to qualify for it, there would be little opposition from the highest ranking 6 European nations, because they would be in it. The complaints would all be coming from the other 49 nations uefa represents

Even tonight...although 6 clubs are involved....Sky have made this all about Liverpool and United....and they wonder why the Premier league will suffer without these 2 clubs who they've relentlessly put up on a pedestal now for 29 years....

Prehaps had they not catered to these 2 non stop, their exit would barely be a ripple now, and the league could carry on as an exciting interesting league

Yes, fans travel over for some group games and maybe a few knockout ties. This will be a whole lot more trips abroad in a single season, every single week almost. People can’t sustain that.

I know he's a beaut, and as standard for them always views himself as the victim, but Klopp lashed out like that I think because he's annoyed and feels like he's and the players are being lumped in as part of this. Had he reacted with indifference then you'd know their owners had gotten him to come aboard.

I think if it goes through he walks, even if it's just to save his own skin from fans.

No, they dont want fan revenue, they want customer revenue, they care little if they are fans.

100%. That idiot Tim Shipman is basically what they want - supporters who pay their TV money, get the shirt and the mouse-mat, interact with the club digitally and occasionally turn up to take in the atmosphere of a real game (and buy more stuff).

The regulars, season ticket holders, people who've been attending for decades with families and friends are not what they are looking to get or keep - most of them just contribute ticket money rather than buying things (and not as much ticket money as occasional visitors do), they don't generate "atmosphere" either most of them and of course they are going to be the people who provide the greatest amount of resistance to these changes (rising ticket prices, more corporate influence, eventually franchise moves).

This would be my fear, that they get another free pass based on nothing other than they were going to walk away. FIFA, UEFA the FA and EPL need to play hard ball or these barstewards will just up the ante in a few years time....

I pray UEFA have the PL by the balls as I doubt the 12 teams give in at this stage - which means the domestic leagues either act strongly or they cave in to demands.

UEFA wont as they have nothing to gain financially from this - so may well come down to which domestic leagues have loyalty to UEFA or worded better which ones are scared enough to go along with them in punishing the dirty dozen

My Brother didnt miss a European game 2 seasons ago.

And when "the fans" run out of money, that's when the customers step in.
