Has there been any speculation as to why PSG decided to opt out ? I can understand Bayern and Dortmund pulling out because of the structure of German football but id have thought PSG would get involved.

Unless the clubs have woefully underestimated the kinda sanctions that would be placed on them. The idiot owners might not have even realised players can be banned from internationals etc.

I imagine they don't really have a case for not paying whatever the current deal says. Relegation being a thing means they were never fully guaranteed any of those teams even if the chance of actual relegation was remote.

Mostly because the train of thought is they don't want to [Poor language removed] FIFA or UEFA with their World Cup coming up next year.
 

Has a point here but only because the big clubs top the group with the odd suprise. Why not make it straight 2 leg knockout from the 1st draw with no seeds and bigger ££ for each win. Like a proper cup. Less games for teams to play which they want and more ££

World Cup is in Qatar and they are owned by Qatar. Cant afford to fall out with FIFA I presume.
