It probably could in the short term depending on what kind broadcast and sponsorship deals they get, which I imagine will be substantial at the inception phase, but long term, yes it will absolutely go belly up.The thing is it isn't sustainable if they get kicked out of the domestic leagues. No chance the Super League is going to replace all the revenue from the domestic and CL.
These clubs realise that this direction will lead them to the States or to the Far and Middle East. They will abandon their supporters and have to acclimatise to a new cultural audience. They will probably change the rules of football to engage these audiences. They will likely rebrand their names, badges, kits and everything else that once made them what they where.
Meanwhile back on planet Earth, the English, Spanish and Italian leagues after a few rocky years of restricted broadcasting deals regain their footing and replace the void left by the deserters with new blood. The leagues will be revitalised by new found levels of competition. European club football will also experience a resurgence.
This is the reset that football has needed for the last decade. These 12 clubs must be allowed to die so that the rest of us can live.
