Poor Carragher and Neville, they got all excited about a fan backlash and making a real change, then Perez comes along and sh*ts all over their parade, doesn't budge an inch and then sticks the dagger in with the announcement that all the teams are now legally binded to play in the league.

Aww just look at the poor Spanish clubs. Perez is right. Not a pot to piss in.

We need to throw them a fundraiser.

Absolutely mental how Spurs have got to those levels of revenue without bloody achieving anything.

What does he mean, if they do a deal with Uefa? What motive do Uefa have to deal with the SL?

UEFA are the governing bodies of the domestic leagues, so they'd need approval to integrate into them, or the leagues to disown UEFA.

UEFA is literally an acronym of Union of European Football Associations.

I’m a bit annoyed we still haven’t released a statement on this. Makes us look like we aren’t against it.

The last 24 hours have been utter mass-hysteria in football press, very easy for any team right now to come out and say the wrong thing, even in condemning the Super League.

Keep your powder dry, let the dust settle, let the focus be on the 12 teams involved, let this meeting with the other Premier League Clubs take place and hopefully we'll have been one of the teams pushing for the right actions to be taken against the scabs.

DBB handled the Project Big Picture issue well, so I'm hoping whoever is representing us tomorrow can follow suit.

Obvious now the motivation for this. Barca and Madrid and in real financial difficulty. United and Liverpool face massive losses as well.

Rather than sell their best players, pay less wages and run the risk of not getting into the Champions League, making their finances even worse, just create a new competition.

These clubs who for years have paid obscene transfer fees and wages, believing they are too big to go bust. And now it’s finally caught up with them and they want to move the goal posts and pull the ladders up against everyone else.

Disgrace.

Excellent post.
