Champions League revamp

....the more I see the reaction to this: the more I hear the debate & see the detail, the more I don’t see this happening.

There might be fortunes at play, but I can see players not wanting to be part of it. It could end up like the Chinese Super League with older, star names looking for one final pay day.
And that's fine, there would be loads of money in clubs of superstars who are past their best. Across the world, if a team rocked up containing Messi, Ronaldo, de Bruyne etc who were all past their best, it will still take in so much money. People still want to say "I saw them play". Like when we had etoo. We all knew he was well past his best, but at the time, I was buzzing to be able to watch him, just for the glimpses he showed.

But it wouldn't be at financially beneficial as having them at their best, so that's not what they want.

AC Milan

Theres a £175mil loan that has been given to one club.

If it had been provided to ALL of those 6 clubs then I would agree. Call them all in.

But it hasnt.

Id call in the loan immediately.

It may seem unfair as you say, but take the £175mil from Spurs and let their billionaire owner pay for his 'SUPER CLUB' out of his own pocket.

Disagree.

If Liverpool fans want to set up AFC Liverpool then i suggest we let them use our stadium and facilities.

More than happy for the club to show it is,

THE PEOPLES CLUB.
Be interesting to see how that table stacks up against a highest debt/most leveraged one.

Gosh, well - Arsenal held by little, brave Fulham. Mourinho sacked after Mighty Tottenham fell to small European team and the shameful draw at Average Plus Everton (drawing only after A+E made a horrendous defensive error). Real Madrid held at home by urchins Getafe and now the Mighty Red Machine held by former Championship side Leeds. Who even know football could be competitive and that the ESL sides had to try harder to win?

So how many different teams and how big a squad will the likes of Man U form? One for domestic competitions (50 odd games) and one for the CL and ESL midweek competitions (another 40 or so games)?

Or are the owners going to create Red Devil FC, Ashamed By Nothing FC, Cheeseboard FC, Woolwich Wanderers, Dubai FC and Gazprom FC?

This won’t happen, it will fall on its arse and all 12 clubs will end up looking really really bad. But the six pl teams can’t just come back to these PL meetings unpunished, it has been an attempted coup, only a few months ago they tried to make their six votes more important than anyone elses. Bad bad snides these owners you know, if they had a chance they’d get rid of relegation

....that is interesting, it might cost them lots to get out of this.
I’m not so sure. If Chelsea and City were really as lukewarm on this as has been reported, surely they wouldn’t sign themselves up knowing that they’d be liable for a colossal fine if they left.

This whole thing stinks of a panicked thrashing for survival by some of the non-English clubs involved. It’s certainly not being rolled out like a carefully thought through master plan.
