Champions League revamp

Reckon this is City and Chelsea who stand to lose more and apparently only signed up for fear of missing out.

I could try to sum it up myself, but Neville summed up City’s stance in my opinion perfectly.

City don’t need the ESL, they have enough money, but they’re fearing missing out, because the dangled carrot of €400m each season for a founding member.

City will pull out, I’m certain, and then I think Chelsea will.

But is a super league, a super league without them but still including Tottenham? lol

Ha ha, never waste a crisis, they say. Well, Bayern are playing a blinder. Not only has Karl-Heinz Rummenigge set his club up as the knight in shining armour, he's been elected to the UEFA Executive Committee and now is making overtures to lure Jürgen Klopp home. Masterful.

His whole argument was basically if they fundamentally change the proposal then what’s the problem?! Lol

Surely the whole point of this abomination is to avoid having to qualify and guarantee revenues. Bizarre man.

Exactly.
But it’s doing it’s job, isn’t it? Everyone fuming about Jordan and if that generates interest then he’s done what he needed.

Ha.

Yeah OK.

If they were advised that everything would be rosy and there'd be no backlash, they're not just deluded, they're thick and for the health of football be barred from owning a club.

Blatantly not fit and proper for the role.

They’ve made their beds and shown their colours please don’t give them a way back for the greater good of English football leave them to rot.

Remember the prophetic words of Chas and Dave though - Tottenham, Tottenham - no one can stop them lol

This should not be an option imo.

Unfortunately, all that does is make a breakaway more likely.

Got to get them with no other choice but to crawl back, then you dish out the punishment.

For me it'd be something like a ban on European qualification, 10-15 point deductions to start the season, and a transfer ban.

It'd only be for the one season (two then of not being in Europe obviously) but it gets the message across.

There's no way they're getting kicked out. It's a catch 22.

It's just a horrible scenario emerging whatever way you look at it.

There will be climbdown from the big six, but at what cost?

Will it be six automatic UCL qualifiers plus an additional two or three depending on league position? How many games a season then?

They will have to agree to automatic qualification based on a coefficient but that should surely exclude Spurs and Arsenal.

I'm angry at this whole thing but it's actually those two clubs, there isn't much difference between us and them.

You'll have the kopites then claiming they saved football for everyone and we'll never hear the end of it.
