Champions League revamp

Shame they entered into a binding agreement with JP Morgan isn't it.

All it will cost them to pull out is money, which they have in abundance.

If I'd put myself in their situation, I'd be offering what I know the other side wants - breaking the thing in return for the hammerblow of retaliation falling on Liverpool, United and Madrid, and not me.

Ha ha, never waste a crisis, they say. Well, Bayern are playing a blinder. Not only has Karl-Heinz Rummenigge set his club up as the knight in shining armour, he's been elected to the UEFA Executive Committee and now is making overtures to lure Jürgen Klopp home. Masterful.

I mean... as long as you’re aware that KHR is going to be trying something radical, less radical than what’s going on now, but something bizarre.

Points deduction and a heavy fine has to be the way forward. They won’t relegate them automatically.
The points deducted might take care of that for Arsenal though.

It's just a horrible scenario emerging whatever way you look at it.

There will be climbdown from the big six, but at what cost?

Will it be six automatic UCL qualifiers plus an additional two or three depending on league position? How many games a season then?

They will have to agree to automatic qualification based on a coefficient but that should surely exclude Spurs and Arsenal.

I'm angry at this whole thing but it's actually those two clubs, there isn't much difference between us and them.

You'll have the kopites then claiming they saved football for everyone and we'll never hear the end of it.

That's a crazy misreading of the situation...

Exactly.
But it’s doing it’s job, isn’t it? Everyone fuming about Jordan and if that generates interest then he’s done what he needed.
True. Same as Durham and co. My mate got sucked into wasting a fortune on phone ins because Durham was calling Beckham one of the greatest ever lol

No one ever accused the Bavarians of stupidity. The epitome of a well-run club.

Unfortunately, all that does is make a breakaway more likely.

Got to get them with no other choice but to crawl back, then you dish out the punishment.

For me it'd be something like a ban on European qualification, 10-15 point deductions to start the season, and a transfer ban.

It'd only be for the one season (two then of not being in Europe obviously) but it gets the message across.

There's no way they're getting kicked out. It's a catch 22.

They should be immediately relegated to the conference if they try to crawl back. They won’t be arsed about a points deduction or transfer ban for a season, that does absolutely nothing. This is an attempted coup on the game of football. An actual criminal act, the punishments have to be as severe as possible.

For me it won’t put an end to it, even if this competition doesn’t go ahead. The owners of the 6 clubs have very much made their intentions clear I don’t think there’s any going back for them on what they have in mind. It may disappear for a season or two but it will be back before you know it.

These 6 clubs simply cannot be trusted, they’ve broken trust with their peers in their own league, it’s broken now and for me anything but an exclusion for them is a slap on the wrist.

Once one of them does a U-turn, the whole idea will cave like a pack of cards.

Man City are the club in there with the most ties to their true fans. It’s on them to be the ones to pull out.
Just wonder why they haven't pulled out...wonder what contracts have been signed.

Not worth it, for me.

As it stands, only 3 of these are making the Champions League anyway.

They have insane amounts of money.

Banning them from the Europa will be something g they’re happy about, especially if it’s only for a season. It needs to be a lengthy ban, minimum of two years.

A message loud and clear that you’re not bigger than us.
